| Terrified of dogs What to do Well, I tried to introduce my sisters puppy to Rocky, she is 4 lbs and still a puppy. It was a fiasco. Puppy would chase my Rocky all over the place and ROcky would just run away. What do I do? Same thing with other dogs. But from a distance, he will let out a bark. |

| puppies are hyper and demanding of attention.. older dogs often are not amused by this. You may have a situation that he will just grow out of as he matures. if you think he is actually being aggressive and not just overly playful towards the other dogs, then you may have an issue to work out. |

| Layla was also terrified of other dogs, and a trainer suggested I put her in a puppy class since puppies are pretty social and she was still small enough at 2 years that she wouldn't intimidating. Anyways, the first day the puppies tried chasing her and she hid under the table for 20 minutes, pressed against the wall. By the last class, she was running with them! It worked wonders. I had to learn to not baby her when she came running to me scared. She had to learn "I'm here, there's other dogs around, and there's no way to get out of it" and I think by the end she was actually looking forward to seeing her same puppy friends every week. I guess the bottom line is socialize socialize socialize. Even if they hate it, they'll hopefully come around eventually I think it's important for dogs to have canine companionship as well as human.

| I just had a similar situation the other day, except my Mocha was the one doing the chasing and my friend's puppy Lily was the one scared of Mocha. Mocha has been around other dogs before and has done fine, but for some reason it was hard to introduce him and Lily to eachother. He would bark and scream and lunge at her. I guess it might be because it was the first time he's met a female dog and also a dog his own size. Anyway, we were really scared to put them down on the floor together, but luckily most of the rooms in my house are seperated by glass doors. We put them on each side of the door and they could still see eachother without having any contact and acting on their excitement. We opened the doors just a little bit so that they could sniff eachother and then we gradually opened the doors bigger until we didn't need the doors anymore. It really helped them to get used to eachother without the inital full-on contact. I know that not everybody has glass doors, but perhaps you could find some other type of barrier that would allow them just a little bit of contact to get used to each other? You could probably even use an X-Pen and put one inside and the other on the outside.
