yorkie's coloring I am confused. My yorkie is 6 mos. old. He has had two puppy cuts. His body is black with some silver coming through. His tail is black. His mustache (muzzle) chin and beard are gold. His neck and chest is really light silver (almost white) and the top of his head is whitish silver! I think he is supposed to be a blue and gold yorkie. Does this make sense?

Rudy is 14 months and still changing colors. In the last couple of months he has lightened up on his back, he was real black now he is still dark but not so black. I have read they change colors tell they are about 2 years old. Maddie's papers call her a blue/gold and Rudy's papers call him a black/gold. When Maddie was 14 months she was lighter than Rudy is now, but who knows they change is seem over night. Any color they change you gotta love'm............Cindy

I have read also that Yorkie's color changes throughout the first two years of their life. I think it is incredible to watch the change month by month. Schatzie is getting a lot of silver and blonde going on also. Her black back is getting quite a bit of silver in it, which I've read this is a fault in showing?? I am not sure of the legitamcy of this or not and even if true I don't care. Schatzie could turn pink and green and Id still adore her!

Mojo is 1 year and 5 months old and his coat still changing, both his parents only really got that rich steel blue coat at around 2 yrs old, so i guess he is on schedule.. When they are changing colors, it is such a confusion...Mojo's head looked silver for a few months before turning tan, which made me miserable, since i looove darker yorkies, thank God that soon enough he turned a dark tan (kinda like caramel color) his body still pretty dark tho and his belly still has a bit of black hair. The best thing to do when trying to find out what color he will turn up to be is by seeing the parents and if possible, other dogs from previous generations...
