| Our day of jet shiing turned SO wrong Is there anyone here from Perris Ca? We went to Perris Lake yesterday for a day of jet skiing. It was a beautiful day for it til,,,,,,,, I think it was about 2pm or so we seen this dark cloud beond a small lsland on the lake. It look like a fire or something. The next thing we know the the dark cloud came closer and closer and it didn't smell like fire. Gus was getting a little uneasy and I knew something was about to happen. I am so lucky he was in my arms before hand!! Next thing we know there was the biggest gust of wind came roaring by like a fraight train. tents, canopies, unbrillas, blankets and even b-bquers were being tossed everywhere. I had Gus in a tight hold and grabed my son who was next to me and just ran. My oldest daughter was in front of me and Val was in the water with my husband. Everyone ran for cover to the nearest restroom. These poor kids that were playing in the water were just covered in mud including my Val. It took me some time to flush out all the dirt in her eyes. But becides that she was ok. I don't think there wasn't anyone seriously hurt that I seen. Just a few bloody noses and minor cuts and a lot of caughing from the dirt and dust and a few damaged water crafts that were docked. It felt like a tornato but the park rangers said it was it is a common thing when a big strome moves in around there. but the thing is it didn't really rain after,,,,, just a few drops and a lot of lightning. We came back a little lighter then we had gone with out with,,,,,,,, our canopy which was wrapped around a tree and our 2 small dome tents were distroyed as well,,,,,, all things that can be replaced, just very happy to have every one come home safely. We were covered in dust but we all are just fine!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | WOW SCARY !! As a kid I'd have thought that was cool - as an adult I know better and that is very frightening - glad you only lost possessions ! That could have been so much worse. |

| Thank you guys, I am too so grateful we made in home safe. This morning when I woke up it felt as if I was tossed around by a F5 tornado. I think just about every muscle in my body is sore. I am getting too old. LOL I wanna play like a kid still but just don't realize I'm not as young as I used to be. I was out there on the jet ski doing my thing and was having a ball. Oh but my poor bum! I feel as if I went a few rounds with Mike Tyson. lol (he's the first fighter that came to mind),,,,,,,, It took me quite a while just to get down the stairs this morning.

| I am happy y'all are okay. I have never heard of such storms. Have you seen them before out there? We occasionally have Sheer Winds in MD but they are nothing like you have described. |

| I used to go to Perris with my kids (30 years ago). I am so sorry for your horrible day, but you really brought back some memories for me, good nad bad. When I lived out there, (Sunnymead) we used to get straight winds that would make a sand storm for about 15-20 minutes, it was horrible. Glad that you and yours are OK.

| Flash floods and storm warnings I live in SoCal and have been to Lake Perris many times. The news was warning everyone since Friday of the possibility of flash floods, lightning and storms out in San Bernadino and Riverside Counties, they also were warning of the same in Palm Springs, high desert and the low desert. I am sorry that you had such a terrifying adventure and am glad everyone is ok. The weather here in SoCal has been freaky for the past year, my old grandma would have blamed all the space missions and satellites sent into space. |

| My gosh, I've never heard of a wind that comes on that fast and that intensively! We have tornadoes here and wind storms but we usually have time to get in somewhere before it hits. Thank heavens you're all OK! Milli, that's cute what you said about your grandma! Bless her heart! Who knows how many things we do these days mess with our weather!

| We live in San Bernardino and we have had flash flood warnings since last week. but have yet been afected by them. But this thing was really scarry. One of my neighbors moved to Perris and she said that it was horrible. They are still without power. I told her that we were at the lake at the time and she said that she could hear the wind and was not about to step foot out of the house even when her window started to shake. It hit so fast there was no time to do much of anything but run for cover. It looked like a fire at first. A back cloud that moved very quickly. We have some bad winds here in San Bernardino but never ever seen anything like this before. Jackandjill,,,,, is this normal for Perris and surrounding cities?

| Oh wow that's scary. My father & brothers live in Perris, Ca and I was down visiting them at the beginning of June and we spent a day at Lake Perris. I lived in Moreno Valley (next to Perris) for 5 years before moving up here and I never experienced anything like what you described.... Weird |

| Jackandjill,,,,, is this normal for Perris and surrounding cities? Hi, I really don't know, it has been many years since I lived in that area. I just remember the terrific winds that would whip up the soil and I would have to get my kids inside. Maybe PinkMartini can answer this, as she has family there. Wish I could be of more help. We now live in tornado country, and have lived through a couple of them, it "ain't no fun".
