Hard to Swallow I'm in a large commercial vehicle when I do my weekly banking so I have to go inside. All of the tellers know me as the Yorkie Guy and know that I'll be interested hearing about their furkids. One girl in particular has a Cavalier that would send me in search of a prescription. Recently she reaches for the seven foot lead to take him out for his potty and finds only the metal end. After searching the house over and finding no lead, she takes him to the vet as a precaution. The vet's exam finds nothing wrong so the mystery of the missing lead begins. Several days go by and the lead has been replaced, everything is back to normal. Suddenly the puppy coughs a couple of times and the lead shows up...or at least part of it....about three feet. This part is still connected and the puppy is beginning to choke. Not having the courage to pull the rest out, she cuts the lead as close as she can and rushes back to the vet. In the meantime the puppy re-swallows the part he was choking on. After an emergency surgery the rest of the lead is found in the stomach. As it turns out the puppy had swallowed the lead whole, did I mention seven feet? The puppy came though just fine, mom....is looking into therapy.

That is some story. It totally amazes me how puppies survive puppyhood. They will eat anything and try to tear up everything. Thanks for sharing that story.

Kinda makes you wonder how they can swallow something long and stringy like that without getting sick. The smell of a clean sofa is enough to make mine throw up.
