| How old? On an earlier post, I had mentioned that my friend is looking at purchasing a shih tzu, and the breeder had asked if she could wire transfer the money to her bank account. Anyway, she has not done anything yet. But I do want yall's opinion regarding her age. The breeder states she is 10 months old and is only 3 lbs. 10 oz. Her website is Pawz Paradise Shih Tzu of Riverton, Utah, is a breeder of Quality AKC Registered Chinese Imperial and Standard Shih Tzu and IBC Registered Biewer puppies.. The dog is under the shih tzu nursery. She is the older shih tzu named Puddin. Thanks, Pam |

| I don't know a thing about Shih Tzu's. I did look at the puppies picture, and it looks like a puppy that is younger than 10 months to me. But, again, I don't know anything about them. |

| Just a word of caution to your friend. I work at a bank. We are seeing lot of fraud involving wiring money to pay for purchases. I personally spoke with a customer who lost money involving the purchase of a puppy. Tell her to please be carefull. I wouldn't buy any dog now unless I could pay and pick up my puppy in person.

| That dog looks more like 12 weeks to me. Is it just me, or does the left eye look red? I don't know. I would be cautious buying that pup. I went with my grandparents to buy a shih tzu, and when we picked her up, she was 12 weeks and looked about that dogs age. Hmmm...

| I really don't know much about that breed but something seems off about that pup's eyes to me. Does your friend have any reservations about this puppy? Obviously you are concerned that something isn't quite right, I hope that your friend is trying to lead with her head on this one. Wow, I guess you said she doesn't accept paypal but I can't imagine signing a contract with this clause in it "9. Buyer agrees that no charge backs will be filed through credit card companies or Paypal on this transaction for any reason"

That's awfully small for a Shih Tzu, I'm thinking something might be wrong with it. The puppy in the picture doesn't look healthy to me. Sometimes dogs are small because they are not well. The eyes just don't look right, and at 10 months she should be a picture of health. If that's the best picture they can produce of her, there is no way I would be interested. I'm wondering why she hasn't sold. Here is the link with Puddin's picture: OlderShihTzuPuppies

| I agree with the others I would be very cautious in buying that baby. She doesn't look at all healthy to me either. Her left eye looks like it might be bleeding...by looking in the corner of it. I don't know, if it was me buying that pup, I'd probably pass. But that JMO though.

| I also think that there is something wrong with that puppy, especially the eyes. I would look elsewhere, maybe from a reputale Shih-tzu breeder. I would contact the parent club to find breeders in your area.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Hmmmmmmm....looks like a puppy picture to me and she doesn't look particularly healthy in it either. Btw, the term "imperial" in shihzu is used like the term "teacup" in yorkies. The standard for these dogs is supposed to be 9 - 16 pounds. By chance do any of the biewer breeders "know" this seller?

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Has your friend looked for a breeder here in Va? Here's a lady in Richmond. I do NOT know her and can offer no recommendation...but look at her puppies and dogs...they look so much healthier. | Im really not an expert on this type of dog, but the puppy just dosent look right to me, and the eye does look like it is bleeding or infected. The puppy dosent look like it is healthy and does look kind of sad in the picture

YT 1000 Club Member | I don't know much about the breed either but that isn't a great picture of the dog. I did see the red mark on the eye too. Looks like a gouge to me. It just doesn't look very happy! Poor thing. |

YT 1000 Club Member | I looked at bchgirl's link and they do look healthier. But, does that breed just have a sad look to them? I'm so used to looking at my happy little yorkie baby, she's always smiling. |

| Oh Boy. That dog looks sick to me. She looks scared, sad, and her eye is in bad shape. My mother in law has shihtzus and that pup looks very young, definately not 10 months! If it is 10 months, theres something seriously wrong with it. Plus, these dogs are supposed to be a little bigger. Bigger than yorkies anyway. The standard is 9-16 lbs!
