| OK. Two things bug me and I want your opinion pretty please My little Elvis, 8 months old, does not wag his tail even when I use baby talk to him, he just stands there and stares at me...what's up with that?! Then, he does not like for his head to be petted. He's ok with me reaching under his chin and petting him that way, but dodges my hand when I come "over head" to pet him...what's up with that too? Now if I've been gone for a few hours and come back, he's going bonkers wagging his tail and excited to see me. It's just when I want to baby talk him and get a response out of him, I don't get anything but staring. Thanks guys and gals!

| Don't baby talk him anymore. Use your real voice. See if he likes it better. He is still a puppy, so take it slow. He loves you, just sometimes has a hard time showing it.... Seems like a typical male to me, LOL.

| I don't have much advice for you but my Choupette does pretty much the same thing, that's because she is afraid of my hand and will shy away unless I come up to her under her chin, now I do have to say that when I got her at 10 months I think she was ruff handled a lot and that's why she scared, even now 3 1/2 years later I still have to be careful of how I approach her. As for the tail wagging, he's probably trying to figure out what you want and does'nt know what to make of it. LOL

| Happened to me That very same thing happened to me when I got my Yorkie. He will most likely grow out of that, my little Lola was very stubborn at first but after about 9-10 months of having her she eventually livened up and was always wagging her tail and acting happy. She is still skeptical about strangers petting her head but she has no problem with her owners anymore.

| Loki doesn't wag his tail unless it's dinner time Even when he is really happy to see people his tail is straight up but not wagging. Sammy wags constantly even if you just say "Hi Sammy!" Every dog is different. Don't reach over his head. It can be disrespectful in dog language and some dogs don't like it. Mine dodge me if I try to pick them up because they don't want me to pick them up (they are independent) If Sammy wants to sit in my lap she will paw at me and crawl in my lap. Loki always prefers to sit next to someone, touching them but not on their lap. He is bigger (12lbs) and I think it is more comfortable for him.
