YT 2000 Club Member | Maggy May has done this twice within the past few weeks. The first time, I called my sons cell phone, he was up in his room sleeping and it was about 4:30 in the AM, (after my hubby left for work.) My sons 18 years old and I sure wouldn't wanna meet up with him in a dark alley, he's very intimidating to look at. He came downstairs and checked everything out and didn't find anything, but the next morning on our back porch was a pile puke right outdside the door, I'm thinking it was Squeeker (the stray cat we've taken care of for a year now.) I think Maggy must have heard her out there getting sick and thought it was the boogy woman and needed to alert me. The second time was just a few days after she was spayed. I was sitting here typing and she was on my lap sleeping. The next thing I knew, she was very awake and alert looking at my bedroom door growling and then started barking and wouldn't stop. Thank goodness hubby was home. It woke him and he got up to see what she was alerting us to, and here Justice (our cat) had snuck out of the bedroom while I was going potty and was sticking her paw under the door wanting back in. Scared me to goodness! She's quite the lil watchdog that's for sure. I think it's amazing the way our lil ones always look out for us and alert us to what they aren't sure of. Rather it be a bug, a noise outside or whatever, they sure having their way of letting us know about it. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about at your place maybe it's an animal outside the can hear?

| Oh I hate when that happens! Emma is the queen of doing that! She will just bark into the air and growl with like such intention and it freaks me out! I always joke that she sees ghosts, then I freak myself out! |

| I swear sometimes they see ghosts, they will look at and bark at nothing! Then it's silly things. Like Camden just discovered the ceiling fans after being with us for 2 1/2 months! She's fine when they are on and running, but when you turn them off and they are slowing down. She stares up at the ceiling and barks and watches it until it stops!

| Gracie is such a great watch dog. DH doesn't work on Mon's & Tue's so he gets to sleep in whilst I trudge off to work. Shortly after we got Gracie she would wake him up growling and whoofing at the end of the bed every morning around 6:30. He finally figured out that at 6:30 is was just light enough that she would see herself in the full length mirror across the room and was warning that other dog to stay away from her Daddy and brother. She's such a good girl, taking care of her family! Here she is tearing the flesh off of the latest 'evil' creature that threatened our home.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | They are so protective Maybe it's just a shadow or something moving from a fan or breeze. Aiden started barking nonstop so bad the other day that my son got freaked out, thinking there was a ghost/spirit in our house...my son is 16 mind you. I finally figured out that it was the float in the pool, floting around. His hair on his back actually was up. LOL He had my other one barking, and he can hardly see due to his cataracts. They are very verbal little fur butts.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Animals and children see and are open to things. So who knows. It could also be a mouse or something being as they have super bat hearing. These guys might be small but they are great guard dogs.

| Bentley has done that a few times but I just figure it's a piece of lint or something. But most of the time he does that he's directing it toward our cat (which is like 4x his size)... His tail is always wagging though. HEHE

| hahaha . . . things like that will raise the hair on the back of your neck for sure. My girl Bichon, Lacy, went wild barking at my bedroom door once. She was stiff-legged, definitely in "protect mom mode," snarling and jumping up and down on her front legs like she does when she's really being protective. She sounded like a doberman about to attack! I went to see what was the trouble, of course. It was night and I live alone, but I always go look. It took me a little bit to see what was concerning her, but then I saw a poster on the wall that had come loose on one corner and it was hanging down. I think she saw it drop loose and moving when it first fell. I put it back up and told her she was a very good girl for being so observant and ready to protect her mom. She quieted right down and all was well. I spent some time petting her and talking to her. I like the fact that they are very observant and alert me to anything different, no matter how trivial. It might be a fire or a prowler or something that really needs my attention. |

| Daisy does that sometimes! She stares at the ceiling and will then try to get on something high, like the back of the couch to get at whatever it is she thinks she's barking at. It's a little freaky Abby on the other hand, barks at her reflection in the window! hahaha

Donating YT 11K Club Member | lol there was no mouse, nothing! i was looking at the spot she was looking at, it was under London's chair. London was on it half asleep and at first i thought she was barking at London but she wasnt looking at London, she was looking exactly under London and then her eyes would follow something to under my bed and then she would run as if it got close to her, and there was nothing there, nothing moving! She seemed like she was playing tag with it I was like Sophie was do you see and she wagged her tail

| Thats just so spooky! It does make you wonder if they can see things we can't.. A few years back my Staffy sat and stared up into the corner of the room for what seemed like a good 5 minutes..he just wouldn't take his eyes off this spot..he was totally transfixed!! I have never seen him do this before..or since..it really spooked me!
