| That feeling of relief ... First, sorry this is so long, but ... There's nothing better than that feeling of relief you get when your baby has been sick and you begin to see the first signs that he/she is feeling better. I've had a nervous couple of days, as Archie came down with an unknown ailment which caused him to scream in pain for (seemingly) no reason. It seemed to be connected to his mouth at first, as he cried out if I put my fingers in his mouth. He also was trembling, which he does when he is in pain. And his usually wiggly little tail was tucked under his tushy. I had a nervous night before I could get him in to the vet the next morning and it just killed me to see him looking so forlorn and in pain. Well, long story short, the vet couldn't find anything wrong, except that his left eye (on the side of the pain) had a little discharge. The diagnosis was "trauma" and she gave him eye drops and an anti-inflammatory pain killer. Well, he was pretty mopey most of today, just laying around, his tale still tucked and looking sad. But as evening came on, he started to look better: eyes bright, tail up, wanting to play and eating a good dinner. I just got a lump in my throat when I began to see signs of "My Babe" coming back. Gosh, I love him so much -- and it's so hard to see him suffering. But I'm, SO RELIEVED to see tonight that he seems to be on the mend.

| Aw...poor little guy! I am so glad to hear he's on the mend. It is so worrisome when you don't know what's wrong.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Oh, I'm so glad he's better; Joey had a scratched cornea, that didn't have any symptoms besides no appetite, which is a biggy for Joey, and the fact that he couldn't open his eye fully. This made me so anxious knowing that the vet said it was very painful, but if he had screamed out in pain, I think I would have about died. I know your relationship with Buddy is super close, and know how difficult this was for you. Joeys pain seem relieved as soon as we began using the ointment and I hope this is true for Buddy too. I am so thankful that we have doctors and medicine that can help these little guys.

I'm so glad to hear that Archie is better...and, now you can be better too!

| I am so glad Archie appears to be on the mend. Whose idea was it anyway not to teach people "doggie-speak" so we could tell what was wrong when they don't feel well?

| I'm glad to hear Archie is feeling better. It is always so hard to see and animal in pain, and sometimes not knowing what is wrong makes it even tougher.

Therapy Dog Donating Member | I am so relieved that your Archie is feeling better after the eyedrops. Maybe like the others said he scratched his eye on something and boy they can be painful. I had a scratched cornea and it was bad. I know that when our babies are feeling sick we are beside ourselves in wanting their pain to go away. Especially when we can't help them and we have to wait for the vet. Whew...glad that Archie is on the mend.
