| My baby's Paw We were on a walk today, and I picked Cooper up to give him a break and noticed his paw bleeding. As soon as i got home I put him in the sink with some luke warm water and looked for glass or anything in his paw, I couldn't find anything. So I kept an eye on him and then later when I was brushing his hair I put him on his back to brush his belly and took another look at his paw, I noticed that the one of the little black paw things was like cut and kinda just hanging there. So I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if I should do anything or just keep an eye on him and make sure he just stays around the house till it heals up. Thank you Jess and Cooper |

| My little ones often get grazed paw pads as they are just so tiny and delicate...it usually happens on tarred roads and pavements...in a day or two at the most it will heal and you can take him out again....try some antiseptic cream...but he will probably lick it off...just stop him licking the cut bit everytime you catch him...it will grow back. Try making a sock to go over it when he goes out for peepee ! If it doesn't heal or starts oozing....seek Vet advice...but it should be ok. You could also bath it in salty water or water with a bit of antiseptic...he may flich, but it will clean the wound...most likely he got torn on a sharp stone. If this happens a lot...try booties...and they are great for sharp snow !!! Debra x x x Last edited by HighlandYorkies; 07-12-2008 at 06:23 PM. |

| I'm so sorry to hear about your furbaby! I never had anything like this happen because we push our dogs in a pet stroller. I hope his paw gets better soon.
