| Do you trim their tail? The hair on Brutus' tail is getting long and it's starting to cover his butt. I trim the hair on his butt but do I trim his tail hair so it's not, shall we say in the way of him doing his business? It doesn't seem to be a problem now but it looks like it will be in the future. Thanks!

| My groomer cuts the hair everythime Maximus goes...but by the time he is ready to go back his tail hair has gotten long again...so I trim it so that it doesn't get the way...but I don't know if everyone does it

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I do but be careful - don't trim too much ....I did and gave poor Chanel a VERY Noticeable Baboon Butt once ! Now...I only trim a tiny amount - just enough that they stay poop free. |

I'm bad I hadn't trimmed his butt area in a while and when I went to do it the other day the poor thing had dingleberries! Can't let that happen anymore!

| Carolyn there is really no need to cut it down if youre growing out the entire coat...I groom underside but not the tail itself it will blend in as the hair grows this is ashlee (only pic I could find that somewhat shows her tail lol) the hair length is almost to the ground... hope it helps

| Wow Katie really got her tail docked SHORT!! She does not have a tail as long as any of your dogs! She has a TINY TINY nub - half the size of my pinky finger. It's adorable when she tries to wiggle her tail but ends up wiggling her whole booty!
