| Very disappointed with Breeder Picked up my new baby last night, she is beautiful, 14 weeks old. She is UK KC registered, and seemed to be well looked after by the breeder. But I noticed that she is infested with fleas. I am really disgusted with the breeder. He said she might have a few mites, cos he had the central heating on. He said she had been taken to the vet, and gotten the drop on the back of the neck for fleas and mites. How do I get rid of them. I need to check with him when she got the treatment, but I assume it was the start of the week. Should the fleas not have died. We werent finding any dead ones! All alive and kicking. We washed her last night with puppy shampoo and tea tree spray. The all headed to the head, and we got a lot combed out, but I am still finding some this morning. Do I continue washing and brushing, or should I take her to the Vet. Also, do you think there will be eggs in my house now - will I need to get the house treated as well? Has put a bit of a downer on my excitement - the poor thing must have been tortured with them |

| I asked about Frontline for Suzi. Although I haven't seen any. I wanted to use it to be on the safe side. They said I couldn't use it until she was 2 kilos. (and it's a special puppy one.) She's 1.1 They said if she had fleas they could spray her though. The vet checked too and couldn't see any. I'd ask her for her vets number to check if she had been treated. I think I would also treat your house too love. Hope you soon get it sorted. Hugs Shirl x x |

| Be sure you put the Dawn on her neck getting it as close to her head as possible first. Put it on pretty thick, then quickly soap up the rest of her going from the head to the tail. This will help as best is possible, to keep the fleas from all running to her head. Then take and rub a little on her head. Try to leave it on for several minutes. While she's soaking you will probably see some trying to escape, you can help to rid her of them by picking them off and rinsing them down the drain. After you're all done washing her, you can follow up by squirting a little of the Dawn down the drain and then cleaning the sink/tub with a good scrubbing of bleach and rinsing with lots of hot water. My irrational fear was that they'd climb back out later that night and attack us as we slept peacefully, unaware of the horror that was about to pounce on us. Yeah, I have some bug issues that I'm working thru. Doesn't help that I watched Stephen Kings, The Mist earlier this week. ewww bugs!!!

| I'm not sure if they have Dawn dishwashing soap in the UK? It is just the liquid dishwashing soap, not the soap you use in the dishwasher!! Good luck with those fleas!! I'd be furious at the breeder too!!
