I Love My Babies Donating Member | You should keep them seperated until you find out how they get along. Sounds like your new one will need to be put on a special diet to bring her weight under control. There are a bunch of very smart ladies/gentlemen on this site who can help you out with that. I just wanted to say "Welcome to YT". Hope you like it here.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I hope you get her!!! I would keep them seperated for awhile. What I did was keep the new one on a crate and the others would lay by it when I was gone. I did have to stop free feeding due to all of them getting overweight. As far as introducing a new one I just brought the new one in an d supervised as they got t know one another. I just gave them more attention and it all worked out fine. Good luck keep us posted.

| Welcome! I have two furbabies and I can't imagine only having one again. Mine really love one another and are best friends and having #2 did not all all affect my bond with my first baby, Louis. If anything, we are all closer now. (I am typing this as the two are snuggled up to one another, next to me sleeping while I type. I would keep them separate at first and wean your 1st off of free feeding. Know that there will be fights, but it will work out. Patience is key!! We have had our 2nd for 4-5 months now, its awesome. I feel so much less guilty when I am out, I know that they are playing and keeping each other company.

| awww. better luck next time! in the meantime, checkout meetup.com and see if there are any small dog meetups you can attend to socialize your little one and get a better idea of personalities she DOES do well with. Or if you have friends or local YT people, set up regular playdates. If you get her used to other dogs, she probably will hold her own and find a new friend enjoyable, rather then terrifying!! poor shelter dog probably was so scared and anxious having been cooped up in a cage with no love!! You should post her info and the shelter name on the YT rescue/for sale section! I bet someone on here is the right fit!!
