TJ goes to the vet in the morning to be neutered. (Monday morning) I am a little nervous about it. He is my baby (8mo) and I hate to see him hurting. Can someone tell me how long the recovery time is? Like most little ones, he doesn't stay still very long. Will I need to keep Sandy and Dexter away from him for a few days?

Awww, don't panic. The discomfort usually lasts less than 48 hours. The vet will give him something for the pain, and he probably won't want to get rowdy with the other dogs. Just try to keep him as calm as you can.

The other dogs will know he's recovering. They may be curious, but they should leave him alone. He'll be fine, and food for you for doing the right thing!

The neutering has been planned so that we would be responsible pet owners. It is the sedation that has been on my mind.

Keeping TJ in our thoughts and prayers. Hope all goes well. Pls keep us posted. Maybe it will be best when he comes home to keep him isolated for a few days from the other babies.

Thank you for the kind thoughts. It will be a busy time here. Sandy is scheduled to be spayed on the 18th. And guess who is coming into heat? We have to keep her away from the boys.

TJ will do great!! Which vet are you going to, if you don't mind me asking?

Ranger was a bilateral cryptorchid and had an umbillical hernia... I had to keep him quiet for 2 weeks! Hah!! The first 48 hours are the hardest but after that they are fine! I will keep TJ in my thoughts tomorrow!

I am glad Ranger is doing well. We are going to Pet Health Clinic with Dr Lauretta Burman. It is located on the corner of Midland & Lake Lowell. Thank you for the kind thoughts. How are your puppies doing?

We'll be thinking of TJ tomorrow and praying that he will be back to normal in a couple of days. I know when Kiki went in, she was jumping off the couch the next day. Hard to imagine they bounce back so quickly. The hardest part was keeping her from jumping.

I just called the vet and TJ is doing fine. PTL. While he was out, they pulled a couple of baby teeth that were still hanging around. He is starting to wake up now, but the neutering went smoothly. Thank you for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers. Prayers work!

TJ is home. He is still a little groggy. The first thing he did was to start growling at Dexter. I put Dexter in his pen until I could get the portable fencing up. That way, it keeps the other two away from him. Right now he is curled up on my legs.. fast asleep. It is so good to have him back home with me. His mouth is still bleeding a little where they pulled 2 of his baby teeth. But he is home and my family is again complete. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. You don't know how much they mean to us. Love you guys.

Glad to see and hear that your baby is doing allright! Neutering is far less invasive than spaying, so he is good in that aspect. The only problems I ever had is my cat had a crazy reaction to the anethesia and had to stay an extra night.

Hope the toothfairy visits tonight! lol

I did get a note from the toothfairy.

She stopped and picked up a couple of things for TJ. She was not sure they would fit under his pillow but she will put them beside his bed so he can have them in the morning.
