| New here and to yorkies. Hi all! I am Amy. I live near Jacksonville, Florida. I just kind of accidentally became mommy to Journey, a 1 1/2 year old male Yorkie and I have fallen head over heels for him. I got him from a resident of the apartments I work for to give to my neighbor as a gift for all the work he does for us. He had a yorkie, who passed on a few years ago and has told us how much he wants another one. After I brought Journey home, he decided that Journey wasn't the dog for him. So, he is with us now and I couldn't be happier. He was already housebroken (yippee!!) and he is good with my kids and loves on the cat. He follows me everywhere and just wants to be near me. He seems to very loyal. He seems to always be smiling! He is a little on the large side though. He is probably 10 - 12 lbs. Is this normal for males? His former owner kept him clipped down and trimmed nice and neat, which I will continue to do because it is just so cute! Any suggestions for getting Journey to warm up to other dogs? He did great last night for the fireworks outside. He LOVES car rides! I am excited that he is part of the family now and can't wait to learn more about yorkies!

| Welcome to YT!! Love the name Journey! We'll yorkie standard is 4-7 lbs, so he's a on the bigger side - what some here fondly call a teapot - and there are quite a few on YT. I think the biggest yorkie on YT is like 16 lbs. What matters is that you love him and can give him a forever home!
