| hello were new here! hello everyone im so excited to have found this forum...I just got my baby yorkie yesterday...I travaled a few hrs to get him..the pups were very cheap...and when we got there, even tho the pups didnt look the greatest..and they were all scared to death of people,,,we decided to rescue him out of there, we named him Riley Blue,,he is 14 weeks old. and pretty sick, I knew there was someting wrong with him while we were at the breeder..that is why i picked him..as strange as that sounds...but i figured he needed to get out of there the worst. I took him to the vet first thing this morning..and the vet said he either has very very bad kennel cough or phnemonia..she put him on and antibiotic for 10 days...if he is not feeling better in 3 days its back to the vet for xrays, you can feel him weezing when you pet him..he is still a little shy with us,,but he is coming around..I got him some vitimens and puppy formula to give him a little boost..I raise Bichons,,and this is my first yorkie...I have wanted one for soooo long. we are so happy to have him, I gave him a bath today that he was in dire need of, and a trim, I think that alone made him feel a little better. I will take some pictures in a day or so,,dont want to stress him out anymore than he already is,,I cant waite to talk to some yorkie owners..it seems nice here. |

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | welcome to YT...did you buy from a puppy mill? I just wanted to say that buying from a puppy mill only supports...no matter how bad you feel for the puppy, buying for them is supporting them...

| Well, welcome to YT. Your story concerns me though... Where did you purchase your dog? And by very "cheap" what do you mean? I know you probably feel good like you saved this dog, but buying dogs from people who raise sick puppies is only supporting them. Like the person above me said. If the rest of the dogs seemed sick and the place seemed dirty or something you should consider reporting this place.

| Welcome to YT. We are all really nice but really feel that breeding is for the betterment of the breed. Puppy mills are really not caring for the dog. And that is why we all will say that if this place has sick dogs you really need to turn them in. Its the best for all those dogs. Otherwise you only rescued one and the rest could possible die. Think of it if you turn them in if its in really bad conditions the rest of those animals could get rescued and well.

No matter how sorry you felt for him, you are just keeping this breeder in business! When people stop and realize how bad she is, it will put her out of business! reporting her may help. I'm sorry your lil guy is sick, i sure hope he is ok! | |

| No the house looked ok,,,but the puppys were very scared....she had 3 of them they were 350.00 and when I picked this one up i could just tell there was something not right,,I picked up the others as well they semed ok except for being very shy and in much need of a bath. well if i did the wrong thing by taking him out of there,,,then shame on me...but I felt like it was the right thing to do, and we love him very much and are giving him a very good home, with good food and vet care and all the love and patient in the world,,,,in my opinion the little guy is better for it...and as far as reporting the breeder...I dont have much to go on,,the areas of the property that we saw were clean, and all the proper paper work was there, they had food and water in their bowls. so if someting is goingon that shouldnt then they are very careful about covering it up. |

| I agree, you may feel somewhat attacked right now but don't think it is bc we are mean people, we just care so much about the breed. We all love dogs so we hate hearing stories of pups who are sick bc they aren't being properly cared for. I am glad that you took Riley Blue to the vet. I will be praying for his safe recovery. Please do keep us updated with his progress bc I would love to hear that he made a full recovery. And yes, we would all love to see pics of your new addition!! Please don't be discouraged away from YT, it really is an amazing place. i have met so many amazing people here and also there is so much good info here esp. for a new yorkie mom!! Hope to see you around!!
