| I found 2 flees on my lola yesterday I have been taking her for a walk around our apartment and yesterday after coming back from our walk I founds two flees on her. I bathed her and checked every single inch on her body to make sure that she did not have any more. Please let me know what to do to prevent this from happening. Is this normal for them to get flees from walking outside on the grass? What to you usually do with your babies to prevent the flees? please help. |

| I use Advantage on my yorkie. Also you can use Dawn dishwashing liquid (original) to kill what's on her right now. Learned that here! Hope this helps you some

| I have read about the Dawn on here before but nothing in detail?? When you put that on them how much do you use and do you follow w/shampoo and conditioner or what?? THANKS for any info...Lily is scratching like crazy and I just bathed her yesterday and only used baby shampoo on her face and just used "Mane & Tail Conditioner" on her body and thought that might help me to comb the mats out of her some and not dry out her skin if that is why she is scratching?? I have used Frontline and it is time to do it again tomorrow?? She is only 4 months old TODAY so she still has her puppy fur!! I have appt. to have her groomed next week. |

When you use Frontline, you are not supposed to bathe them for three days before or three days after. If you decided to use the Dawn, do it BEFORE you apply Frontline because it will strip the application right off. It is a degreaser (removes oils) and that is the base of Frontline. There are pills which I just found out about that you can give that kill the fleas that are on her. It is called Capstar. I found that out on this forum. I gave my Sassy one of these before I applied the treatment. I use Advantage because the Frontline made her feel bad. Lethargic and a little sick for the day and night that I applied it. The vet told me that fleas 'feed' four to six times a day. If she has four fleas that is 16 to 24 bites. That's a lot of bites! All the best to you! hope you get those nasty little critters gone! _____________________________________________ | |

| We use Frontline because it's supposed to take care of ticks as well. Whatever you do....I'd do it soon before you have a flea infestation in your apartment. One flea can produce tons of offspring. You may have to use something on your carpet as well......cause fleas will hatch in the carpet. When I was living in an apartment (this was years ago before yorkies).......we had a flea infestation in our apartment and we didn't even have any pets at that time. Either they were coming through the walls.......or they were dormant in the carpet in the Winter time. As soon as Spring came......OMG! I had flea bites all over me. We had to bomb the apartment with fogger. Our vet also said that some shampoos can wash off the flea medicine.......I'm not sure if that's true or not. Good luck!
