A Pet's Ten Commandments
A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I only have you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I' am not getting the right food or I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old and weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

~~Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them. Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without our little critters.

We do not have to wait for Heaven, to be surrounded by hope, love, and joyfulness. It is here on earth and has four legs.

8 Weeks old and 1 lb. 2 oz.!!! What kind of "breeder" lets someone take them at this point??????????????

Thanks for all of your advice guys. I know what the right thing to do is, and of course I will help her out if she needs it. It's just easy to come on here and vent cause I know everyone would feel the same way I do. And yes, sometimes it's easier to fear the worst than hope for the best because I know the turmoil that's going on there and can only imagine a tiny pup in the midst of it all.

Go hug your babies for me!!!

Already had a hypoglycemic attack........ Poor baby. She is vomitting now but they don't want to take her to the vet because they want to "wait and see." I'm on the phone with her right now......

EXACTLY!! I have 2 Yorkies and a Golden and my Golden minds me like a soldier. The Yorkies...not so much! They are darling and I love them to bits! I waited to get a smaller dog after my kids were grown for that very reason.

Be supportive and help her as much as you can. It's in the best interest of the dog.

"wait and see?" The poor little one does not have the time to wait and see .YIKES. Your friend has gotten in over her head. She just got the little pup and it is already sick. Hopefully she will learn quickly on how to handle emergencies, and properly care for her new puppy. It is a tremedous amount of work and responsibilty .The little yorkie Puppy is much more like a human baby then people realise. She is already swamped in her personal life, and needless to say this is extremley poor timing of your friend . Bringing home a fragile, Yorkie pup, mostly looking for someone to talk to? Heck she needs therapy.

I told her to take her to the vet asap. She said they don't even have a vet. I said you better find one fast. She doesn't think the baby had ever eaten hard food, even though the "breeder" sent them home with Kibbles and Bits. She said she hadn't really eaten since Sat. and then this morning was lethargic and shaking. Her fiance got her to eat some food but now she's been vomitting. They of course didn't get any health guarantees, contracts, etc. and paid $1000 for her with nothing. I guess yorkies are an easy way to make a quick buck. The breeder had two or three litters, eight pups in all. $8000 for all the pups... Wow.

I am trying really hard to get them to get her into a vet asap. but I doubt they will take her in today because she's coming into work and her fiance is at home with the pup..... I just want to go home and hug my baby Ranger!!!!

I would be upset too, there are too many people these days who get dogs and really don't know what they are getting themselves into, and then you see another person go and do it. People like this only add to the problem, but sometimes you'll be shocked, and the person will end up providing a really good home for the dog! I'll keep my fingers crossed that this will turn out to be the situation for this little yorkie.

Hug Your Ranger ........ This is out of your hands . Poor puppy though. Could you tell the fiance to give the pup a little Kayro Syurp, rub it on her gums? They could lose her , if not treated.

Sorry you are going through this. Maybe once she realizes that she is in over her head she will rehome that baby to someone. And if you can't take it, maybe you can help her find a good home for it! I pray that everything turns out right. Just help her as much as you can on informing her about everything she needs to know.
