| Problems With Licking Hi Everyone, I have a little Yorkie named Lily that is fairly new to our home. She is about 14 months old and is an absolute doll. One little problem seems to be she licks everything and everyone. My hubby and I don't mind but when we have guest or even if we are walking her and she comes in contact with a stranger she instantly starts to lick their feet and ankles. Does anyone know what the licking means and do you have any suggestions on trying to curb the licking? Thanks. |

| Just tell her no when she does it and take her out of the stuation so she sees you dont want her doing it. My Jewels is a licker also and in 3 yrs she hasnt changed. Its part of her personality. My Husband has taught her not to lick him though

| Derby is a licker too. I think he likes to lick the lotion or salty taste off of people's legs....silly little guys. I agree, telling them that it isn't acceptable with a firm "no" or "leave it" and then distracting them to focus on something else is best.

| Chewie is a leg and toe licker too, lol! I'm not sure what is it about the flavor, but I figured it was the lotions I was using but then he started after my hubbies feet and there's nothing good smelling about his, lmaoooo!!! I guess it's just one of those strange Yorkie things

| My Murphy is a licker too but I have to admit I think it is cute when he licks my toes, legs and hands. I can see why you would want to train her to not do it though. I have an idea....just send her to me and that will stop it. LOL....

| Thank you so much, it is nice to know that Lily is not the only Licker! I think we will try to distract her and tell her know but I have a hard time telling her no to anything. She is so darn cute! |
