| I think I've made a terrible mistake From the time I got Riley, I've walked him every day and he is very used to a leash. Cooper was so tiny that I initially was afraid to put a leash on him. So, one year later, Cooper totally freezes up if I come anywhere near him with a halter or leash. Can i undo the wrong i have done? I would love to be able to walk the boys together. Do you have any advice??

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | You can teach an old dog new tricks. I would put the leash halter on him, and call him over for a treat. Let him wear it, and try to get him interested in something else. After a couple days I would hook the leash to the halter and do the same thing. I would than take him for a walk, if he stops, and doesn't budge, I would pick him up for a short period and put him down again. Sometimes, I've had to give Joey a little nudge with the leash to get him going, and he doesn't like certain types of grass, but after a short time they begin to enjoy the experience.
