Senior Yorkie Talker | Question about designated area for your furbaby... Uhm K Ya'll...I need help please. I am trying to decide how to set up Kikyo's area. I am not sure if I want to turn a walk in closet into a little bedroom with her crate, food, etc. and maybe include the crate in the closet. Of course her area is in a high traffic area. I'm not sure if I want to put here in the another area of the house that is high traffic but doesn't offer the enclosure. Nothing but things for her in her area--outside of the toys all over the house... I'm looking for this place to be her room...or as they say on HGTV, her "space." Does anyone have any advice? Does anyone have a special area that is a bedroom or like a bedroom specifically for their baby or babies? I was really wrecking my brain on how to design her space/area. Thank ya'll in advance for your help.

Yorkie Yakker | My baby has claimed our front bathroom as her "space". We moved her bed in there. She took her toys with her. Her food and water has always been in there. This makes it easier when she has an accident or if I need to work late. |

| sometimes, dogs find their own area. mickey started to make my mom's yellow chair in my mom's room as his spot. whenever he was sleepy or whenever he was alone, he'd go and sleep on the chair. now, his area is my mom's walk in closet. he's there all the time. when he's scared (when he made a big no no, he'll run there), when he's tired, and when no one's home. its really cute. our family calls my mom's walk in closet, mickey's room. mickey's room's not designed in any way. he's also not a fan of his bed either. he'd only go to puke. never slept there, even as a puppy. we ended up throwing it away because its old and he never uses it. |

| I'm not sure what you mean by designated place, his crate and expen are Hot Rod's space. We have it in the family room where we spend all of our time. When we first got him, he would go into his crate to sleep and be able to spend time with us too. He's always been around where activity was going on and if I had to put him in his pen for any reason to keep out of harms way, he was still part of what happening in the house. I just hosted a baby shower last night and I had him in his pen after awhile as the majority of the guests arrived just so he wouldn't get stepped on and he was still able to be part of the group. He loved the attention that he got from everyone as they were able to still say hello to him.

| Lulu's space is in the corner of our bedroom, where her crate is. but she also claimed another space under the desk in the living room, so we put an extra bed there and that's where she sleeps.. |

| Our kids used to claim my daughter's bedroom as their space... but with much coaxing from my daughter to get her room back, we've designed a spare room as a play room for our babies. I'ts not quite finished yet, but I'll post pics when it is.... there is no door on the room, so it's open - with a baby gate across it for when they need to be confined for a bit... the gate swings open, so when they are free to roam the house, they can go in and out of their room as they please... There's also a closet in their room, that I took the door off of and am using the space for storage of grooming supplies, the dresser that holds all their clothes, etc. In the play room is a small x-pen that we use for baby Jethro.... or my little male when the girls are in season.... or for any one of the kids if I need a small confinement enclosure for a few minutes... We have a pack n' play bassinet playpen as a whelping area as well.... and the canopy bed, the chaise lounge and other beds, chairs, etc. for the little spoiled furbrats to lounge on.... along with all their toys and "fun-stuffs"... Also, my grooming table and supplies... so everything's in one place...

| wellll.... my Baby's space... it IS the house... I dont have small children, and not much activity so they have the whole house.... Hope's special "place" is in my room, on "our" bed.. hehe.... anytime she feels uncomfortable and I cant pick her up, I can find her on my pillow, waiting... Whenever there is alot of activity, I use the puppy gate and have them in my room and the hallway(so they dont get stepped on...) All of their toys and clothes are kept in my room with them. and of course, there is a "bed" in every room. They just cannot survive without following me every step of every day so I just put a comfy spot for them in every room.. glad they let me share their "space".. haha

| Suzi has her space wherever we are..... Our little darling wants to be near us all the time! She is most happiest and content with my son or I. I guess she is too dependent ! There is one thing she does when scaredc though. That is when I vaccum. She runs on my bed then. That is where she feels the safest. What I am worried about is the 4rth of July

Senior Yorkie Talker | Update Well, thank you all again. Sorry, for not responding sooner but thanks to Verizon my internet is not hooked up yet. Although I called these folks a week ahead of time so they could have it ready. I shall be working on Kikyo's space today and tomorrow. I am trying to unpack as fast as possible and I just finished the bonus room/den at 10 p.m. last night. 2 more days!!!

| My dogs have claimed the whole house as their area......my guys have free run in the house at all times (they are no longer puppies)....however they tend to spend most of their day in my bedroom or I guess I should say "our" bedroom....they have various beds in there and a box of toys.....they sleep with me at night...so I assume that is why the choose to sleep in there during the day...one of my guys sleeps in my shower which is off my bedroom

| I am not sure what you mean by that ...... Maya has a few Areas in the house that she 'claims' as hers ..... Livingroom, Bathroom, Kitchen and Bedroom ..... when she wants to be left alone she goes in her Crate in the Kitchen ... we call it the "Safe Place" .... when she is in there nobody messes with her ..... is that kinda what you mean ???
