| Yorkies and cats???????? Hi All, I have a 7 month old Yorkie-poo and a 12 yr old Boston Terrier. My Boston is female and my Yorkie-poo is male. They get along great. Now my DH wants to add a kitten to the bunch! I work at an animal hospital an we have kittens. Do Yorkies and cats get along?? Coco only weighs 5 lbs. My concern is the kittens cannot get declawed until they weigh 2 lbs. I am afraid the kitten might scratch the dogs. Should I get a male or female? I haven't had a cat in 35 years! Thanks! | yorkies and cats Hello, I have a 12 week old Yorkie and I also have a neutered male cat and a female cat. My yorkie wants to play with them. My male cat is lazy and doesn't really want to play with her, but he hasn't caused any problems with my yorkie. My puppy loves to go outside to find the cats. I don't think you would have any problems. good Luck. |

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Hi..I have three cats who are huge. Izzy is only 2.8 and the cats run from 8# to 16# and she terrorizes them all the time and wants them to play and chase her. They get a long fine now and when the cats have had enough they let her know. At first they went into hiding for a few days when I first brough Izzy home but now they are all buddies. Give it time and all will be good.

| I have a 7 mo old yorkie and 2 cats. My little Jazzi LOVES to terroize the cats. Her and my youngest cat play, dont tell FiFi thats what they are doing because she would be ticked!!!!!! LoL She is a very antisocial cat but they run through the house playing a game of dog and cat hide and seek! My older cat she just looks at Jazzi like she has lost her mind!!!!

| My cat Sophia was Coco's best friend until I got Maggie, she didn't like being ganged up on then. But she just mainly avoids them now. We recently added a new kitten to our home who Sophia thinks is hers. The kitten will play a little with the dogs, but not much. My stepson's mom brought over her dog, a male chihuaha and Sophia attacked him!!! It was crazy, I think if they live together they will be fine, but she is very protective of "her" kitten

| I also have two cats the younger one is awesome with my 7 month old yorkie and seems to tolerate her bitting her ears and they play together all the time! But my older cat is not so friendly, they co-habitate but do not socialize |
