Two pounds is extremely small even for a yorkie. If she does find one it will most likely be priced very high then could have hidden health problems. If she would get one even just 2 lbs more she could end up with a sturdy healthy yorkie

Thats the same thing I was thinking! If she cant handle 4 or 5 pounds. She must not be able to lift her own arm!

I HAVE A BAD BACK and 5 or even 7 pounds is nothing for me to carry..........and I stand by my owrd that a 2 pounder should NOT be visiting other people's homes..........

GOOD RIDDENS!!!!!!!!!!

Woogie Man - I KNOW 2 lbs. is incredibly tiny and as I said, she has a bad
back and can't handle any more weight than that. She has had these before
and knows how to take care of them. And she doesn't work 24/7, so there
are times when she would want to walk the dog on the street. There is
nothing "unreal" here - you people are just very suspicious.

Bruizers Mommy - same as above, and she would not take it to a home where there was a sick animal.

Bizymammabee - Yes, it might have some health issues, although she has
had 16 Yorkies - up to five at a time - some of which have been tiny, and
only one has had a shunt. The others all lived to ripe old ages. If there is
one out there somewhere, wouldn't it be nice for the poor little thing to have
a loving home rather than spend its life in a cage?

YorkieChick1 - Very funny.

jrsygal37 - see above.

spr377- 1) see above, and 2) No, not just so she can say it's tiny - but
BECAUSE SHE HAS A BAD BACK.

cesar49 - 1) It's not that she WANTS a sick puppy, but that she would be
willing to give it a good home and take care of it, and 2) ACCIDENTS
HAPPEN, unfortunately, and that does not make someone irresponsible
or a bad pet owner. PEOPLE get hit and killed by cars, and in NYC,
especially by taxis - if a speeding taxi jumps the curb and hits it, even a
Great Dane would be killed.

I won't be visiting this forum again, so don't waste your energy thinking
up clever replies.
Since your friend is so experienced with the Yorkie breed then she ought to know better then to be looking for a 2lb Yorkie. That is insanity, and pure selfishness, if you want my honest opinion. Sounds like she wants to make more of a "fashion" statement then to be a very good owner. Dogs are not ment to be of convience, they deserve to be bred healthy, and live happy lives . I know that Rats make great pets, she could get one of those, and easily dress it up. It would fit perfectly in her bag too.

I have a friend that had a cute little ferret. She used to make little clothes for it and everything! It was so cute and nice. I don't think those get very big.

My 11 week old is 2lbs 9oz. She's going to be a big healthy 7-8 lb yorkie and I am happy about that. She is so tiny right now I couldnt imagine if she was full grown right now. Im still jumpy when my family is walking around, and still tell them to watch their feet if shes gated in the kitchen. I especially wouldnt take her around other dogs, who are bound to be a lot bigger than her. And you dont know if strange dogs can get agressive.

I never thought about that! How is she a groomer if her back is so bad? Grooming involves lifting very heavy animals. 2lbs is nothing! I think anything under 5lbs is almost featherlight (maybe because mine are 10lbs ). There's not much difference in a 2-5lb dogs as far as weight goes..
