| Are Yorkies An Addiction??? Who can resist them? I am honestly amazed that so many wind up in rescue...(except for down here!) I don't feel like Scooter is much work at all...even with my other dogs and my kids! I just don't know how you can bring one into your home and then dump it! Still waiting (not so patiently!) to adopt a new yorkie! |

| ABSOLUTELY! We swore up and down we never would have room for a dog.. then Franklin came along.. and then we swore up and down we could never have more than one dog.. and now we have Maggie. I'm temporarily fostering one of our rescue puppies for the night and she's laying next to me on the couch right now, sleeping soundly.. I think I'm in love! She is sweet sweet sweet! I miss puppy breath.

| They are both addictive AND an obsession. I started out with one, and now I'm getting a rescue next month! I am so nuts about my Alastor that I now stop strangers on the street to talk to them when I see they have a yorkie! Is that just me or do others out there do that and if people do that to you is it annoying?

| I dont know why they are taken to shelters either, here they are priced so high it seems you could sell them or give them away and someone would want them. The news was showing a shelter here one day and sure enough they showed a yorkie. I just dont understand

| I agree 100% we also said we didn't have time for a dog. Next thing you know Roscoe comes along and we find more time to just love and be with him....more time then I thought we had in a day. They truely are like your best friend. Always seeking your attention, always giving love and just being the greatest addition in the world.....I love them so much and couldn't imagine having a different breed. AND the little kisses in the morning when he wants get up and go out are my favorite things in the world |

| I think they are winding up in shelters because of puppy mill overbreeding. I read something the other day that Yorkies have become the most popular dogs for puppy mills I know the first time I saw a Yorkie (many, many years ago), I knew I would get one and have had a succession of them my entire adult life. Couldn't survive without a furball under my feet. |

| I went from one yorkie to two! Then I went back down to one, and now I am back to two!!!! Hubby tells me that thats enough. But I think we'll wait a while to see how we handle two. But I would really like to rescue, so maybe there will be ONE MORE!

| I think they could be an obsession. I have always wanted a yorkie since I was 8 years old. I used to draw pictures of them and I had a trapper keeper with one on it when I was in middle school. (A little secret: When I worked as a cake decorator I used to take two cupcakes and use a star tip with icing make make little yorkies out of cupcakes. They were cute and big sellers! If u want me to describe how to make them I can.) But, my family liked malteses. I grew up with a few of those and one chi named Sugar. Then over a year ago we rescued our dachshund. So here I am, finally, at 29, having my own yorkie!! And she is just as cute and perfect as I have always imagined.

I do the same thing! I stop any and all Yorkie owners to talk to them about their baby. Yesterday Abby, Daisy and I went to a little grooming salon that sells doggy clothes and two Yorkies came and went. We had to pet both of them and vice versa

YT 1000 Club Member | Hmm, I got my first one in 2006, 2 more in 2007 and then another a few days ago. I plan on getting another one in a few years. Yes they are an obsession, an addiction, a necessity. ETC.
