| Found Her Voice! This evening Tink has found her voice! HELP! She is barking at anything and everything. When someone walks pass the house, bushes blowing in wind. I keep saying NO! each time she barks. She is so loud! Do I just keep saying NO! to try and stop her? She just hates the word NO!

| Yep, you have a Yorkie. I use a soda bottle with some coins in it to stop my furbabies from barking. I have a Pommie. If you think Yorkies are bad, just get yourself a Pommie.

| We would tell ours no barking. It took about two years of saying it before they got it. Now we say no barking and they stop

| I guess I too need to try the pennies in a can. Lilly is obnoxious when it comes to barking. We're here by ourselves the majority of the time and she starts in when the sun goes down. It's crazy, she'll completely catch me off guard and really scare me sometimes barking at NOTHING. Especially when we're in bed and it's really dark in the house, she loves doing it then at random things in the bedroom. I know she's just trying to protect me but still.

| I have to agree once they get started it is almost impossible to get them stopped! And like your little one Jazzi barks at the craziest stuff, like this morning when I took her out to potty we had a storm last night with high winds and so alot of things were blown over and out of there place. She couldnt even take care of her business for the dang barking!!!!! I would scold her and tell her to do her business and she would look at me and go right back to barking...... Just the slightest noisy that is out of the ordinary and off she goes and goes and goes. What does the pennies in the bottle do?

| I just get a squirt bottle and every time she barks I squirt her in the face and say no barking... and now she knows when I get the bottle out that she needs to be quiet! sometimes I feel sooooooooooooooo mean doing it... but its not hurting her... good luck!

| I can totally relate! When we adopted Camden in April, she didn't make a peep for two weeks! Since she was over 2yrs, we thought we really lucked out and got two Yorkies who didn't bark. Wrigley is NOT a barker at all! Well after she settled in, she found her voice big time! Lucky for us, it's a low bark and not really annoying! We keep trying the water bottle and the pennies in the can too! The pennies scare Wrigley to death though and she's not the one barking!

| Thanks for the replies....looks like I have a fun time ahead then! My late 'Pomeranian' Tina never really barked, so this loud barking is new to me Tink hates me pointing my finger at her and firming saying No! (as it is rarely needed) So I will keep this up and have a tin with coins in it for a back up then! Thanks again.

| Maverick also just started barking. Not all the time but man if he sees a shadow or someone walking outside it's all over. He barks like crazy and wants to go outside. I'm going to try the pennies in a can thing. |
