| I'm so confused! When will it start? Chewy loves to hump girls...but he just goes thew the motions! his "red rocket" or "Lip stick" does not pop out....u can tell he is excited because u can see that it is swollen and can see the glands... They can't get a dog prego without him being able to make it come out right? I'm so confused! He is 8months old...when is it gonna happen? and is it messy when it does??

| I also have a Chewie that loves humping his favorite little stuffed animal. He's 5mo old and recently started doing it. It wasn't until a few days ago before his "lipstick" came out...LOL (that's so funny you call it that too). I have a feeling he just has to get excited to a certain point before it comes all the way out and trust me girl, when it comes out, you will be like, OMG! You'll definitely see it because it's not so small in relation to the size of the dog. So far, Chewie hasnt gone all the way and made a mess but I have a feeling it will happen soon once he finds his groove spot. Yesterday he started noticing what was going on down there so once the lipstick makes an apperance his head is between his legs for about 10min....LOL! I figure he's just discovering his little body and everything else will come in time. Good luck with your Chewy

Donating YT Addict | Are you planning on breeding him? If not, neutering will help stop that. The sooner you get it done the less likely he will continue. It will also stop him from marking in the house. Humping is also a dominate activity that isn't related to mating so he may be just showing dominance.

| Mufasa humps stuffed animals every chance he gets. I've seen his lipstick but don't think he's sealed the deal yet. Ha! |

Donating YT Addict | jeesh I'm not a breeder but I think if he was presented with a female who was in season he'd be able to "seal the deal" as Tabatha put it His toys may not get him there yet but i bet a female would! Just bare in mind neutering him after he's been bred may not stop the humping or marking behaviour (if he starts that). He'll know what he's missing if you get my drift

| Our suggestions.... If you intend to just use him once, you may be setting yourself up for a great deal of behaviors you do not want.... In our experience with males, if he is used to breed even once, he will always hump and spray even if altered.... If you do choose to use him, it is very important that he is not used for stud until a full DNA / Genetic panel is done to insure you are not passing anomilies into the breed that others are working daily to remove. Recessive genes are generally not apparent on the surface and must be explored at the cellular level. We will introduce males and allow them to begin "observing" the breeding process @ 5 mo, but suggest waiting until the dog is 18mo to 2 yrs old so that full development of color, size, and faults have occured. |

| He! he! My Yorkie Arnold (now over the Rainbow bridge bless him) was neutered at 12 months. Yet he humped his furry toys, especially one, even after this, all his life. Oh and yes the lipstick. (Wouldn't have though a Yorkie his size had one that big. lol.) Because I tried to stop him, he would go into the dining room and have a go there. Hugs Shirl x x |
