| Yay for Toby! He's finally starting to explore the house a little bit. He finally peed outside too. Granted he peed for like 5 minutes straight..but at least he went. He hasn't peed since early Saturday. He's getting used to being on a leash a little bit too now. I'm proud of him! Although, he still won't eat or drink anything. Any suggestions? I'm fearing he may start to dehydrate

On the lack of appetite ...he may be just getting - I would get some Nutracal asap if he's not eating - and if he doesn't drink - a small syringe or sqeezing water from a towel or ANYTHING to get water in him is important - I don't know how big he is but he is a baby and he needs to eat - Try Gerber Baby food - Nutracal and make SURE he does drink something - even a popsicle - Nutracal is sold at most Pet Stores - Petco /Petsmart - it comes in a tube - and if you don't have any and have Karo Syrup on hand try that - I Think Honey will work in a pinch too - Has he been to the vet yet ? Good luck - I love hearing about puppies - you're so lucky ! | |

| He ate a half a lil bowl of purina doggy ice cream. He's almost 4 years old. I've tried everything to get him to eat or drink. I take my finger and put water on it and rub it in his mouth. He will be going to the vet this week. Thanks for the info.

| You could try some watered down Gatorade or sugary water. Just something to get him to drink. You don't want your dog to die!

| Well...day # 3 and still nothing Today I put a little bit of peanut butter on the roof of his mouth for some protein at least. Then I managed to get 1/4cup of water by syringe in his belly. What else can I do? My vet says he will come around...but I'm worried about him

| I would take him to a different vet. This seems serious.

| Have you tried feeding him in his crate (if you have one)? Just an idea, since he was raised in one he might feel more secure. I know you probably don't want him to ever see a cage again, but it might be worth a try just to get him to drink, he might feel secure enough to drink. My dogs eat the best when I feed them in their crate. Or have you tried taking him outside and turning the hose on, maybe he'd lap up some from the ground. |
