| I found the breeder! I posted about this before, but I got Archie from a pet place in NY. They said he was from Lake Country Pets (a broker), but his papers listed the name of the breeder. But I started worrying that they lied to me and he was really from a puppy mill. Well, with a lot of investigation, I found his breeder who lives in Oklahoma. I called up and started chatting with him. Seems like a nice guy. I also found out that Archie has a little sister...she's only 3 lbs., and they were the only two born at that time. Archie is 9 lbs., so he was the "alpha." I also found out that the breeder doesn't sell before the puppies are 2 months old, which is good, and that he has a 4 year old son who played with Archie until he left there (no wonder Archie loves kids). Boy am I relieved to have found out that Archie didn't come from a puppy mill!!! I left my number and told him if I would appreciate if I could call anytime I had questions, etc. Whew! |

| Nice investigative work!! Good to hear, maybe you can get some pictures of Archie's parents and see the 'family tree'? |

| Wow! Now that you said that, I got out his pedigree papers and started checking around on the internet (my snow-day project), and am finding out all these cool things, like where Archie's ancestors are...in upstate NY, Texas, Oklahoma. And I'm delighted that everyone who has them seem like good breeders! I found Archie's great-grandfather, who was a champion, and his great-uncle. His grandfather got around, I'll tell you that!! His grandfather sired some puppies which are with a breeder in Louisiana. Again, she looks reputable. I know his mother and sister are in Oklahoma with his breeder, though. I must sound like such a loser! But I'm just glad to know that Archie came from a good place. |

| There's nothing wrong with wanting to know where and how Archie came about, since he's part of your family now! We only know of Yoda's parents, but his lineage comes from champion show Yorkies too. |

| Where at in Oklahoma? (if you don't mind me asking). I live near there and am trying to find a Yorkie with a reasonable price.

| Boswell, Oklahoma. Do you know where that is? If you're interested, send me a private message and I'll give you the contact info. Here is a website which has breeders listed by state. This particular breeder is not listed, but here are some you might want to check out. http://www.infodog.com/brag/breedbystate/ok.htm Also, I found this website and this boy is Archie's somewhat cousin. http://www.yorkiebaby.com/wiseGuy.html This breeder in Louisiana seems reputable but I do not know her, nor have ever spoken to her. |

| GOOD detective work!! I find it interesting to trace their lineage too! It's surprising to find some of the names in Toto's pedigree. And you are absolutely right .... some of our yorkiebabies "Grandpas" do get around!!
