| Koda is getting a sister, kitten. We our getting a kitten in about a week, as soon as it is old enough to come home with us. I was just wondering how many yorkie owners have cats? And do there yorkie and cat get along. I wonder how Koda is going to like this kitten. I know he hates any wild animal in his yard. He will sit on the back of the couch, looking out the window to the yard and will go crazy if he see's a squirrel, rabbit or bird in his backyard. He will go out and chase them out of his yard and start marking around the fence and trees. Like he is saying stay out this is my yard. LOL One day he almost get close to catching a rabbit, I thought I was going to have to wrestle the rabbit off him. Thank god it got away in time, I did'nt want to see the poor rabbit get mangled. I just hope he doesn't treat the kitten like that. Or will he be fine with the kitten because it's a house pet?

| You might want to keep a close eye on them for awhile. He may know right away that this a new baby in the house or he might get territorial. We had two cats (one recently passed away) and the one that just passed away hated dogs, but Chip and Smokey would just look at her when she'd hiss and walk away. The other cat and the two pups wrestle together. Chip actually does better with cats than dogs.

| Thanks for your response. I will closely keep an eye on them when the kitten comes home. I'm just hoping they really end up liking each other.

| We got a new kitten when Peanut was about 10 months old and he did great, now he is two and she is 1 and they are so funny to watch them play. He does let her know when she does something he doesn't like.(Peanut is the boss of all the animals and humans)Good luck with your new little one. Vicki |

| Koda is 8 months right now. And the kitten will be 8 weeks. I'm sure koda will end up being the boss too. Ya, never know though.

| We have 2 cats, but we had one before we got Diva. They get along fine. When our cat had kittens she was quick to let Diva know that her kittens were not toys and were off limits. Recently we nursed an orphaned baby rabbit and Diva showed a lot of interest in it when it squeeked. I guess they sounded too much like her beloved squeeky toys. I simply showed it to Diva and said "No! my rabbit!" when she tried to get too close. She's very intelligent and it didn't seem to take her long to get the idea. She never paid much attention to him after that. I only wish the cats were half as intelligent! LOL |

| Gracie is one and our cat had kittens a couple of weeks ago. We were holding one of the kittens and it started crying so Gracie turned on her back for the kitten to nurse. I would keep an eye on them for the first few days.

| I've got 4 yorkies and one cat and 3 foster kittens right now and they all do great. An 8 week old kitten will let him know if he's getting too rough or not and they can get away and climb or hide where your baby can't reach it.
