| Chewy's BF was Killed My Chewy doesnt really like dogs for the most part but she had a friend when we lived with my parents. It was a boy yorkie. I just found out that he was attacked and killed by a big dog yesterday on my parents block. He was the sweetest cutest little baby, only 5 years old. I am sure his owner is devastated. Really sweet lady who home cooked for him and treated him like her own baby (she has a daughter my age who no longer lives with her). She always gave me advice when I was a new yorkie mommy. Ive been in tears all day... just wanted to remind everyone to keep a close eye on their babies. PLEASE dont let your dogs off leash even if you feel safe in your neighborhood. They obviously felt safe walking the same block 3 times a day. Im also not letting Chewy walk on an extended leash anymore. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | That is so sad. I rarely walk mine anymore as I could not possibly get all 4 to safety if we were confronted by a bigger dog. I only go if my dtr can go with. It sad we cannot walk our babies without worrying.

| I am so sorry for her loss. This is just so sad. This was the 3rd story I read like this on YT tonight....and I am only on the first page of the new posts. These larger dog attacks are so scary and happen so quickly.

| I am so sorry to hear that..... I always use harness for my babies so that I can yank them up if something bad happen to them. Actually the harness did save my boy's life when a dog tried to attack him one day at a outdoor mall while I was walking my boy.

FINALLY had a good day today.....she actually went to the DOOR to go outside and potty 3-4 times!!! She slept all night last night and the night before but in bed w/me!!lol That's ok .... long as she sleeps and doesn't scream all night or go potty in my bed I don't care!! Does anyone use that "bell" on the door for them to go outside?? I don't want to overwhelm her with everything at once but the way she went to the door today I kinda wondered if I could train her to use a bell down the road sometime?? One thing at a time!! I was hoping to get her to "lead" but doesn't look like I am going to do that anytime soon!! She is WILD!!!LOL Thanks so much for all of your help on here.....I have learned so much from ya all.

| How horrible. Just can't imagine having one of my babies snatched out of my life in an instant like that. What the heck is going on lately with all the larger dogs running around loose and killing little dogs. I think a few people need a harsh wake up call. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I'm so sorry to her of your dogs friend getting killed. It is so sad that you need to be on the defence everytime you walk your dog anymore. I carry mace which is against the law in CA. I would got to jail defending my babies. I has a friend mace a dog that attacked her dog. The mace made the dog drop to the ground crying. Her dog was not hurt bad and the dog that got maced just needed its eyes washed out. The owner was someone she knew. He said his dog is afraid of cans now. I also use a harness to be able to swing or toss my yorkie out of harms way. In my neighborhood I'm known as the lady that will kill your dog it it is loose. (I wouldn't but love it that people think I would!!!)

| ugh im so sorry to hear about this. you know, there is this one house aroudn the corner and i swear that dog is going to kill a dog one day.. they let that big dog OUTSIDE NO LEASH and whenver i am walking my dog he comes running and barking and they are like NO!!! and run after him. I ususally have to speed up or hold my baby as i pass. after reading this i am going to change my route so i dont pass that house anymore.. too risky!! and i like that idea of carrying mace!! im going to look into it |

I'm SO SORRY for your friends little yorkie - we really are hearing this more and more and it's just so sad. I'm so sorry for your friends loss.... even in a harness - if a big dog charges things can happen in such a split second even a great harness may not save them. I wish ALL DOGS WERE ALWAYS ON A LEASH but we know that won't ever happen
