| Pleas help!! My Stud is about to be 3 months old this month, and i want to potty train him. He is training on training pads but he still pees on the floor every once in a while. Does anyone have any potty training tips? How did you do it to potty train your yorkie? I am tired of cleaning up after him lol. Help! |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Sorry to scare you but it tends to take closer to a year to get your yorkie potty trained. He is only three months so you do have a good ways to go. Make sure to clean the accidents up with a good cleaner (50/50 vinegar and water works for me) so there is no scent left behind. You have to be dilligent and keep him in your site at all times and when you see him looking like he is ready to go pick him up and take him to that pad and remind him that is where he has to go. When they are as young as 3 months that is a lot to think that they will consistently go on the pad. Good luck. Time and patience is of the essence.

| If he is peeing on potty pads most of the time at 3 months old your doing great. Yorkies are hard to train. Only thing I can tell you is keep up what your doing and when you catch him peeing pick him up and put him on pee pad. Belly bands are another idea. Someone else on YT will have a better answer I hope for you ...Good Luck

| Congrats on the new pup! Just be consistent. Never let him out unsupervised. Keep it up and he'll catch on. Sounds like he is well on his way.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I agree with the others, your dog is doing great, Joey had a few setbacks when he was teething and then right after he was neutered, but then, he finally "got" it. Joey's breeder advised us to just ignor the mistakes.

| We didn't train Duke on potty pads, we took him outside to potty every hour. To this day he still pees inside. I put potty pads where he always pees at on the floor. Like someone else said, it took us about a year as well to get him potty trained.

also for the pads you can buy some kind of spray to put on it that is suppose to help the dog recognize that thats the place to potty and if he goes on it.. give him a treat and say good boy.
