| More Help Please I have another question. Some of the times when Mickiey rides in the car with me he is fine- he is calm and quiet. Other times Mcikeiy whines and cries very loud and as he is doing that he opens him mouth and sticks his tongue out very far- it looks as though he is choking. I don't know what to do about this, when he does that I just pat him and tell him that it's okay. I try to calm him down, which usually works for about 1 or 2 minutes and then he starts to cry and open his mouth again. Does anybody's puppy do that as well?? |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I wonder if he could be getting carsick. Joey's carrier allows him to stand, and peek out, if dog's eyes can focus on something outside, this helps avoid carsickness. Other things could be hungry, thirsty (we carry a hamster type of water bottle) or perhaps he needs to go pee. What happens when you get home?

| I am wondering if he might need to pee or potty when he is acting restless. Always, make sure he has relieved himself before going for a car ride. |

| He is car sick, My Jewels is the same way. Sometimes she actually vomits but other times she just pants and is anxious.

| I think maybe you guys are right about him getting carsick and perhaps that's why he runs to potty as soon as we get home- because of the stress? I can't imagine that he actually just wants to go to the bathroom every single time I take him for a ride, Nancy does your yorkie cry and pant in the car and potties as soon as you bring her home? |

Oh, I thought he did just have to go potty, since that's the first thing he did when he got home. Joey's does whine occasionally in the car, and when he gets home, he rushes to pee. This never happens on the way to some place, but on the way home. Now, I usually let him take a leak in the parking lot before heading home, so I haven't had a problem lately. If it was carsickness, I would think it would happen every time, but maybe not.
