Tobie has a new little sister!-advice appreciated Hi all, I haven't been on here in a long time, but on Friday, we were presented with an opportunity to get another yorkie from the same breeder and went with it! We picked her up (12 weeks) yesterday and just need some advice on being the mommy of now 2 furbabies. Tobie seems to be doing well, all things considered. At first he was a little wary and kept his distance when we got home, and seemed to warm up a bit more and be more interested at the end of the night. They're like human kids - he was like "Ok, she's cute, now send her back!" She's more interested in him and he's SLOWLY warming up I think, especially for the second day. She keeps eating his food though! She did really well last night, cried several times throughout, but not NEARLY as bad as Tobie did when I first brought him home. I finally let her out at 6am this morning and let her on the bed. Tobie sleeps up there off and on throughout the night. So here are some questions: How early did you guys let your yorkies sleep with you? She seemed okay this morning for a couple of hours until we all got up at 8am - she I keep her in her crate for the first few weeks? How long did it take for your other yorkie to warm up to the new baby? What were his/her behaviors like? And basically and advice you guys could give would be great! Thanks so much Tobie and Ella's mommy

Your new little one sounds so adorable Congradulations The only thing that I did with my Suzi was not to put her up on the bed. She slept right next to me on a pillow, on the carpet from day two on. Then about a couple weeks later Suzi learned how to jump up onto my bed all by herself. Since she knows how to safely jump up and jump down she does share the bed with me now. I do not have answers for your other questions. Just be sure to give your first Yorkie plenty of TLC and attention too. That we he still knows that he is loved and special, and your not replacing him.

I am by far not one to give "advice" but I have had my baby for little over 3 weeks now and she was born March 12 so she slept in bed with me for the first 1-1/2 weeks then she got till she didn't sleep all night and I worried she would jump out of bed when I was sleeping and she wanted to play in the middle of the night so I put her in her crate for a week...she slept on and off in there but mostly screamed and peed and pooped even if I got up several times during the night and took her out...she came back to my bed for the last 3 nights and she has slept through the whole night and goes out in the morning and pottys outside and has done GREAT with it!! Who knows what today or tomorrow will bring!!lol She hates confinement and she just cries constantly if she is confined?? She has gone to the door to go outside yesterday and today both since I haven't put her in her crate all night?? Who knows!!lol GOOD LUCK!!!
