| How Much Time do You spend with Your Yorkie's? How much Time do you spend with your Yorkie? What kind of Yorkie Parent are You? Here are 3 examples. I have 3 Yorkie's. Artie my male @ 4 yrs. old, Abigail @ 3 yrs. old and their Daughter Tiffany Aloha @ almost 2 yrs. old and they Live and Breathe with me except when I go to work in the Evenings 6:30 pm.- 3 am. 2 times per week. If I run errands I take them with me, some times even "Shopping" but if it's too hot they stay Home! My Neighbor has 2 females/Sisters, 3 yrs. old but they only go out of the House to see the Vet. They pooh & pee indoors, sleep with them etc. but they are not allowed outside for any reason and not allowed around any other Dogs at all, not even mine? My Sister in Texas, has 2 a male @ 2 yrs. old and a female @ 1 yr. old but they are crated and kept in the Kitchen all day. She walks them an hour in the morning and an hour in the Evening and they are not allowed around any other Dogs except for other Yorkie's that are owned by her Friend's. I have been told that I am too extreme, I take mine every where I can they "Socialize" with everyone and every animal not just other Dogs, they are my "Family" and they are "Trained". It's frustrating and breaks my Heart, when my Neighbor and Sister complain to me about their Yorkies being so "Stupid" or too hyper active and "Wild" and all the other negative comments! I feel some what responsible since I talked them into getting their Yorkie's, they feel disappointed that their's are NOT like mine. It's hard constantly biting my tongue, I feel like saying something like "Why did you bother getting them"? I don't say anything b/c I don't want to loose them as "Friends". They say I'm the "Crazy" one and I spend too much time with mine? |

| I work from home most of the time, so I spend A LOT of time with my two, even more so since I found out Ruthie was sick. I love being with my dogs... they make me happy. I used to take them everywhere with me, but with two it's now gotten a little harder, so if I do step out for a bit, I'll leave them home. They have free run of the place, so no crates. Actually, they are never confined unless they are in their celltei carrier going somewhere with me! I love taking them to the park and letting them meet other doggies — I just keep an eye on them around other dogs. I am very careful about who I leave the dogs with if I go away for a couple days — I refuse to board the dogs — but luckily I have 3 great options for dog sitters when the time comes.

Well I guess I'm crazy too.....I take my Bryan everywhere with me also, as I typing this he is lying right next to me on the floor....If I go downstairs to cook he comes down stairs also and lays on the floor. If I go to Walmart,Target or any other store he's right there in his carrier trying to get out of the bag. I take him to petsmart 2-3x per week because he need to be around other puppies..... And I just brought him some belly bands so we can start to visit people at their homes without any accidents. Keep your babies with you because they love you when everyone else is acting shady

Senior Yorkie Talker | I work from home so mine is with me all the time, and when I go out he goes with me, yesterday we went to the grocery store which I know is forbidden but he just sat in his carrier in the front of the cart, nobody could tell it was a pet carrier, and he was happy to enjoy the little ride, and eat snacks to keep him quiet

| Well, I have 2 skin kids, 2 Yorkies & 3 cats & one attention hog of a hubby. I love my Yorkies to pieces, but to be fair, I have to balance my time equally among everyone. As for how much time they spend with me, they're underfoot all day. When I'm working (I work from home), they're in the office with me. When I cook, they're in the kitchen (scavenging, usually). When I'm gardening outdoors - yep, they're right there with me. Lately, however, when I play with my son, I keep them in the office (which is next door to his room). We've recently learned there's something wrong developmentally with him, so I've been spending a lot of time working with him & don't want any distractions whatsoever in that time. Other than that, they're always around. They're always underfoot & they usually go with me to run quick errands, unless I'm in a huge hurry (I have 2 kids to shuttle out the door), or if I'm going to be a while wherever I'm going. IN which case, they stay in the office. I take them on walks in the park across the street - which just so happens to also be across the street from the SPCA, so people are always walking dogs there. There are also dog walking groups there. It doesn't bother me one bit who my two socialize with, so long as they aren't rough and they aren't trying to hurt her. My only beef is when people let their dogs off leash over there. Especially untrained BIG dogs.

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | I do not work so I am with them pretty much 24/7 (except of course when I leave the house to go, wherever ) - but for the most part, I am with them always and I LOVE IT!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I do not work, but go take care of my elderly father and go to the gym so some days I am gone for a couple hours, but most days I am with them all but 2-3 hours and then a lot of those times my dtr or husband are home. With 4 I cannot take them out much, except I have a nice fenced in area and they go out there alot in nice weather. I also will take them for a walk in the stroller since walking my 4 is impossible. But they play alot inside with each other.

| It would be easier to figure out the time we are apart, which is very little. We're inseparable. Even at home, she follows me every where I go whether inside or out. I love her company and I suppose she enjoys mine, too.

| I have 2 males at almost 3 years old. I work full time and live alone. So monday - friday they are gated into the kitchen from 730am - 6pm. I hate that but I have no other choice. Very rarely do I not come home straight from work to be with them and I spend all weekend with them. I bring them everywhere I can bring them. I do not bring them to go shopping or do errands or anything. I don't purposely want to leave them in the car, nor do I want to bring them into stores. I have 2 so its harder to 'sneak' them in even in a carrier. I do bring them when I am going to the pet store though! I bring them if Im going to someone's house to hang out also.

| I have six yorkies and I work 9 hours every day from 8 to 5. Once I get home they are with me the rest of the day except when it's time to go to bed, they go into their crates at night. I used to take Sabrina and Blaine with me everywhere when it was just them two and I didn't work, but now I work and Charlie and Lucy get car sick so I can't take them. they go to the park every Saturday and Sunday atleast I try to take them and not for just one hour they are there as long as they want to be. I smoke but I do not smoke around my babies and the only time they get crated during the day is if I'm mopping my floors I don't want the chemicals I use to get on their paws I make sure I mop once with whatever I'm using on my floors usually King Pine. Then I go over the floor 2 more times with just water to get up the chemical when the floors dry I let the babies out. But pretty much I feel like you do, if I can take my babies to work with me I would. I have a friend who treats her yorkie bad and is always talking bad about him saying he is dumb etc. She doesn't spend enough time with him to show him anything of course he isn't going to know how to sit when you tell him too, etc. |

| I am with Lily all day she comes to work with me and goes everywhere with me, I think the only time she is really ever alone is Sun morning. Kingston will stays at home for the next week or so my husband leaves at 9 and he goes in his xpen and I go home at 12 for 2 hours and play with him then go back to work till 5:15 then I am home with him for the rest of the day. I hate leaving him home at all but he still need to settle in a bit and get his next set of shots before I take him to work every day. During the week we also usually go to the dog park and play at least once.

| I work also leaving at 8:15am and returning 5:30pm. I sit on the floor Mon-Fri from 6:30am to 7:00am playing with Buddy to make up for him being alone during the day. He get's walked 4x daily for about 20-30 mins each time. We are together at nights and on weekends with the exception of running errands. I do go home every night right after work and say no lot's of times to dinner with friends. He goes to the petstore with me but he's a big boy so I am limited with him. He is not boarded. If my daughter can't take him I stay home. They do change your lives but they are worth it. |

| I feel really bad reading this post because I do not work from home so I have to leave my baby every day for about 9 hours, but when I come home he's with me for the rest of the evening. I do not crate him and he sleeps in his bed in my bedroom. My husband may be home with him about 1 day a week depending on his work schedule. I'm thinking about taking him to a doggie day care about 2-3 times a week after he gets his shots on Sat. He's 11weeks old now... |
