| How many yorkies? How many of you have more than 2 yorkies and is it too much of a challenge to give them all the attention. I'm considering my 3rd but as always afraid for different alot of reasons. Any advice? |

| Good thread. I'm trying to convince my fiance we need a 2nd (like everyone always says "Can't have just one") and I'd be interested to hear what everyone here says about 3 |

| The biggest concern I would have with more than 2 Yorkies is the pack mentality. If they start fighting it can be hard to get back under control. So if you are the "alpha" in your home it helps. Its easy to give enough attention to 3 I think. But I have many more than that. LOL |

| The question is, how much attention are you willing to give? I have the 3 yorkies, and 2 cats and a bird in the house, and I'm always never alone! I think if you don't mind having someone around you all the time it's no problem having as many as you want. They all get attention all the time, in one form or another. The good thing is that they do play together, even the cats, so when they do give you 5 minutes alone they're usually playing with each other...

| I have 3 dogs, not all yorkies and I love it. I plan to get another yorkie soon and another rottie too. I never worry about not giving anyone enough attention. They are all happy and healthy and I take my time to pay attention to all. Like at night when i relax on the couch they are all right there cuddling. I have more than enough love to go around. And the feeling of all the love that I get from them is incredible. |

| I have three yorkies and they are awesome! Very loving, easy going sweet personalities. We absolutely adore each of them,... and they make a extra warm "Yorkie blanket" on your lap. BUT.... ~Not to put a damper on the fun thought of another yorkie~ Unfortunately, as you may have read in one of my posts; my third has a collapsed trachea~ she will be 3 on August 1st. Yorkies can be very expensive, it's part of owning this breed. I have spent thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars~ not only on the tracheal surgery but spays, yearly teeth cleaning, grooming , vaccinations, misc teeth removed, heartguard, frontline etc...(each x 3) I guess what I'm trying to say, is another would probably be wonderful, you'll love it, and it's easy to only think about the joy of a Yorkie. Just keep in mind this is a breed that is highly prone to major hereditary problems and needs routine veteniary care. When my dog was in recovery from her surgery in ICU at the hospital, there were three other Yorkies with major problems recovering too. I was shocked, and never realized. So if you get another, my advise would be do your research~make sure you watch for the hereditary problems. Find a very, very reputable breeder who knows their line, and is in contact with owners of her puppies. Truely I never expected to encounter any major problems with any of my dogs... or be preaching CHECK OUT THE BREEDER! |

| Is your lap big enough to hold 3? Are your arms long enough to carry 3 dogs around at once? I had my two little dogs plus my mom's maltese for quite a while. I packed those guys around and had all this fur in my lap. It was fun and I'd do it again. |

| Call me crazy but I have 3 yorkies and a chow-mix, it's just me and my furbabies so they get all my lovin. The only down side to have 4 dog is like Yorkie 3 said is the cost of taking care of them. I am lucky my Vet lets me keep a running tab and with four it can get costly, but I wouldn't trade any of them. I would love to get another yorkie or Briewer, but I think my family would have me committed if I got another furbaby. lol
