| Throwing a pity party... Poor, poor pitiful me...and Daisy...and Sophie. But mostly Daisy and Sophie. We brought Daisy home on Sunday. Monday she developed mucous-y diarrhea, but the fecal test didn't show anything. Later on, she was diagnosed with coccidia. So..because of her diarrhea and tummy ache, she's been up most of the night, every night since Sunday. I'm beat. Today, Sophie starts vomiting and has diarrhea. I wasn't worried about it being coccidia, in that the incubation period is 13 days and Daisy has only been here 6 days. However, we took Sophie with us to the breeders when we picked out Daisy. Sophie didn't go in with the puppies, but played in the grass outside. That was 12 days ago. Could she have gotten coccidia then? I don't know. If she vomits and has diarrhea again, I will be calling the vet. Also, because she's 6 months old, the vet said she likely wouldn't contract the illness. I just want my babies to feel and be better. I'm giving them all the loving and good nursing I can. I'm really stressed out about this, almost to the point of an anxiety feeling. And I've not had any sleep in 6 days, which only adds to the feeling of frustration and anxiety. Please send us some good thoughts, prayers and puppy kisses |

| Awe! Your poor babies! Missy had coccidia when I 1st brought her home. I was so sad for her and you could tell she just didnt feel well. Luckily it only takes a few days for the meds to start working and she should be back to herself. It sounds like Sophie might have it too, I would take a sample in for a fecal test. I am sending both of your girls lots of get well wishes and positive thoughts. I hope they are both feeling better really soon. Keep us posted on them.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Poor baby - coccidia is NO FUN - She most likely came to you with it - My Chanel had it ...her whole litter probably had it - and it DID go away with treatment - keep your baby HYDRATED !! That's the main thing because she can get dehydrated ...and keep up with the medication - it takes a week or so for them to feel better but they respond well usually and she should be fine if that's all that's wrong ....GOOD LUCK ! |

| I will just feel sorry for you! I did that diarrhea thing not too long ago - ick! I had a box of shop rags from Sam's - it made cleanup a little easier, maybe a little expensive - but worth it. I was beginning to dread walking into the room. I was never so happy to see solid poo in my life! Luckily they have a chicken pox shot now, that is exactly how it is. You feel so bad for the kids, but by the time it's over - you feel like 'death warmed over'.

| HUGS to you guys! I really appreciate all the thoughts and good wishes! Daisy, our little one, slept thru the night last night for the first time! She woke up several times when we were tending to Sophie, but I said "nite nite Daisy" and she didn't make another peep! Around 1:30 Sophie had diarrhea in her crate. We cleaned that up, then about 30 minutes later, VOMIT. Poor thing - she tried her best to vomit right outside the crate door. My whole downstairs smells like poop & vomit. And the poop from coccidia - powerful, awfully smelly stuff. Hopefully Daisy is over the worst of it, and Sophie will begin to get better, now that I have medication for her. It was very nice to read all of the posts! |

| Prayers from Rini's Cuties, too. These poopy thingies are hard to deal with and when one gets something it just seems to go thru everyone. I and my vet just go ahead and treat all of the young ones..So many puppies come to us with a diarrheic-related problem. Stress is almost always a part of the equation and once they are settled in, they do much better.. |
