Donating YT Addict | The Horror!!! Ok so I'm admitting to a phobia here, and phobia is truly what is is. I am absolutely terrified , screaming, can't breath, run like the wind when I see anything without legs...snakes, worms, leeches and slugs. I know they can't hurt you but hey it's a phobia... So yesterday morning I took Ozzy for a walk down our right of way. It had rained Saturday and Sunday was sunny and warm. SO we are walking down the road and I see the slugs have crawled out from the woods onto the road. Ok ok so I just walk along slowly watching my feet so i don't step on one. (I had Birkenstocks on!!!!!) Well Ozzy has a bad habit of picking up everything in his mouth.....yeah you can see it coming like a freight train... Well I look over at him and he has something in his mouth...I start to panic and yell drop it..and it's a SLUG!!!!!!! IT GOT STUCK ON HIS FACE HAIR!!! Ok I'm screaming now and Ozzy is terrified and has no idea why Mom is freaking out. So I'm screaming and just about crying and using the leash to try and whip this thing off my Babie's face. Finally it falls off and a grab him up and run home screaming hysterically. My poor husband comes running out thinking the dog was hit by a car and when he found out it was that a slug got stuck on him he was so mad! Well I'm sorry but that was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen in my life. My poor Baby! Anyway it was horrible. I had to wash it face and make sure the slug juice was off of him. Jeesh I still don't think I'm over it. I wish I wasn't afraid of them but I can't help it so now we can't walk on that road in the morning anymore. So that was how my peaceful Sunday started!!!

| I am so very sorry for you. To anyone who doesn't have that heart-stopping fear, it is hard to understand. I hope that you can start working on taming this phobia...... so that Ozzy doesn't feed on your emotions and become a nervous wreck. I fear rodents (of all kinds including mice, rats, bunnies and squirrels) and roaches.... |

| Oh how I hate slugs! That's why I don't eat mushrooms they remind me of slugs. Sorry guys for those of you who do like mushrooms. I can imagine how tramitizing that was for you. Glad things worked out in the end. See you can do it. Just think how big you are and how small and slimmy they are. |

Donating YT Addict | Thanks Chattiesmom, I really don't want to be afraid of them it's stupid I know, but jeesh I can't get past it. I tried to touch a snake once but I physically could not make myself do it. It is a major flight reflex! I felt bad for my poor husband for sure! It's pretty funny looking back on it. I have no problem with rats, mice, spiders etc..just those gross wiggly things. I can only imagine if some one was watching what they thought!

| Hahahaha! Sorry, but the way you told the story made me laugh out loud. Poor Ozzie (and hubby)!!! Imagining you whipping the thing off his face with his leash was what really did it for me. How long did it take for your husband to talk to you again??!

Donating YT Addict | I actually was kind of proud of myself because I saved my Baby () from those things. The maternal instinct over rode the flight urge Thank God Oz isn't the nervous type, he was over it by the time we got home Mommy could learn alot from him. (Hubby knew better than to stay mad at me..he knows how badly I hate those things. He calls it the great Slug attack of 2008 now...funny guy..)

| LOL! I have a horrible fear of roaches! We went to Jamaica last week and there was a coke bottle opener attached to the wall by the refrigerator. I thought it was neat and stuck my fingers under it. When I did, a roach came wiggling out from under my fingers and ran across the wall. I screamed and screamed, stopped and screamed some more. Hotel maintainance came to my room to make sure everything was okay. I felt like such a "princess" when I told him it was a roach So I feel your pain. |

| I have aracniphobia (sp?) or fear of spiders. the smallest one will freak me out. but then say I see a wolf spider (ugg!) which are about 1 - 2 inches long, well then that is enough to send me running and screaming. everyone keeps telling me "oh they are so small they are not going to hurt you!" yeah right! the scene in the first spider man movie where peter gets bitten almost made me puke!

| Although I don't have a fear of slugs (just disgust of them and escargo), I do have a phobia of June Bugs. I have to get into the house as soon as I see the first one or I literally freeze on the spot. My son had to come out of the house a few years ago to help me go inside when the June Bugs caught me off guard while I was gardening and not watching out for them. If one ever lands in my hair... I swear I will have to be put in an asylum. I'm so glad all turned out well and that the slug is out of your baby's hair.

| I found a snake in my bedroom a few weeks back so I feel your pain. It was right by Lexie's crate that she was in and I still ran like a little girl. Apparently I don't have enough of the motherly instinct
