| When you say 'long', do you mean floppy ears? Some yorkies have floppy ears, especially if your yorkie is a puppy. If your yorkie is young, there's still a chance they will stand.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Do you mean your yorkie's ears don't stand erect? They're floppy? Yorkie's ears aren't cropped like a dobermans. They stand on their own. Usually if you keep the hair shaved 1/3 of the way down...and trimmed around the edges to lessen the weight they'll stand on their own. Sometimes you have to resort to taping them though. My Reese has flop ears. Nothing I did would make them stand...so he's my flop eared boy.

| How long are they and do they stand up straight or out to the sides or are they down? How old is your puppy? Alot of times the baby will grow into large ears and look fine as an adult. You must keep the hair shaved off the ears on both sides in order to stand them up. Even as adults, you shave the top third of the ear. Did you see the parents of the puppy? How did their ears look? Hope this helps!! Post a picture of your baby!!! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome. The ears should stand on their own but many don't and they look just as cute. Have you tried keeping the hair off of the ear tips so there is nothing weighing them down. Many babies ears come up as they get older and they grow in to their ears. If you could post pics it may be easier to guess if they will come up.

| That's one of the neat things about yorkies...their ears. Some people keep the hair long while others clip the hairs on the ears. It's just a matter of personal preference.
