| A kind of bandaid? Is there anything I can put on my yorkie like a bandaid? She has a spot on the top of her head that she keeps scratching, and I want her to not be able to touch the skin. Any tips?

| I don't know of anything that will stick. You could try one of these collars that keeps dog from licking wounds. Have you determined why your dog is scratching. That may be a good place to start. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Are you sure that there isn't a reason for the itching like fleas or something else?

| Do you know why she's scratching? I wouldn't imagine she would keep a band-aid on. I looked but didn't find anything. Has she seen the vet about it?

| yeah, we are fighting fleas right now. It is hard to completely get rid of them because I live in TX in an apartment complex. I know WHY she is scratching, and am doing what I can for flea control, but I don't want her to keep scratching now that she has a sore on her head. She's just REALLY active today, so when she has more energy she scratches more energetically. Thank you for all your replies!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I was just wondering if there wasn't something you could give her to ease the itchiness. I know there are several sprays that are great for relieving the itch from mosquito bites.

I have heard that baking soda will relieve itching from fleas. I have also heard that if you bath your dog and then put 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar in two quarts of water as a rinse, that it will relieve itching from fleas or allergies. Supposedly, it will also keep your dog odor free for a month, and they do not smell like vinegar. I have never tried this, though maybe someone else here has? I would call the vet and ask what would be safe to use. She is scratching to relieve the itch, so if you could find something to help relieve it, she may stop scratching.
