| Elastics in when not home? Do you leave elastics in your Yorkie's hair when you're not home? Piper's hair is getting on the long side and I'd like to keep it off her face but she's home alone when I'm at work and I want to be safe. Thanks for any advice!

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Magic always wears a band in her topknot, her hair is so long that she can't see at all if we leave it down. I just change the band every couple of days but she nevers pulls it out on her own so we don't have to worry about her eating it or anything. But while am I at work during the day, she still has a band in her hair. I would think that as long as they are leaving it alone than you should be fine, but if they are still pulling it out (like they do at first) I would take it out before you leave b/c you would hate for them to swallow it!!

Luv my 7 Furkids Donating Member | yes but we never leave bows or barrettes. Bows they pull each others out and I dont want anyone choking, and barrettes, Ive had one roll on the floor and get it caught in the carpet. So now just theyre little rubber bands or the little squnchie things. |

| i keep the rubberbands in lexi's hair 24/7, i have to, her hair is too long, but i always take the bows out...always... the band will break if it gets caught, which is a good thing, but with a bow, it can get caught up on things. be careful

| I leave the bands in at all times. If I don't, the hair covers and irritates their eyes and make them tear up which isn't good. Zada and Azrael don't bother each other or Razael's top-knot and Razael is getting out of her mischievous habit of knot-attacking. She even leaves Zada and Azraels bows alone because she now knows "bows-mean-bye-bye". |

| Jamie never wears bows, but I leave his grooming band in all day but cut it out before bedtime each night.

| Thanks! Thanks everyone! You've all been very helpful. I think I'll start putting the elastic bands in her hair this weekend while I'm home and can watch her. She's had them in once or twice before but not for long periods. I haven't attempted bows or barrettes yet but I wouldn't leave her alone with them. Thanks again!

| I leave rubberbands in their hair all day.... I do take it out at night though to give their little skins a rest from the pull. If they do go to sleep with it at night, Jaya always pulls hers out (I have no idea how... but its always shredded on the floor around her). Jenna still has puppy hair combined with her adult hair, so it sorta gets stuck in her hair - she forgets its there I think cuz it never comes out unless Jaya pulls it out along with a bunch of hair But yea.. I would definitely start with rubberbands. It takes them a few weeks to get used to it - you may find that u are putting them in after they`ve taken it out numerous times a day |

| Mojo has long hair and if we didn't leave some sort of band, bow or clip in, he would not be able to see at all....his bangs are pretty long and when they fall over his face, they fall past his chin! We love the little bands from Des go.fetch™ and Erin Barkaholics — Welcome And, of course, normally if there is a band in, we have to put a bow in (except for LilyGrace, who does better in clips). We have bought little light weight bows from a lot of YT members here or from Wal-Mart, the dollar store, etc. We also like those little "snap clips"...those are a quick and easy alternative to a band!

YT 1000 Club Member | I have a very difficult time getting the elastic into KiKi's hair...her hair is sparse and she fights like a wild cat! I found bows at a great site...she makes them for skin babies, but I bought and used the little ones (smallest size) and these bows will not come out....and my KiKi will rub her head on everything in site to try! These are very easy to use...grasp the hair and clamp on..they have a very small piece of velcro on the inside of the clamp and that makes them stay put! I do remove her bows at night. You can find these bows here: Etsy :: ChloesCuties :: ♥Cute♥Hip♥Adorable♥Chloes Cuties I love these bows!
