| Another question.... I thought the boys are supposed to stop humping after the neutering....last night when we were in bed Maximus started humping my bf's leg (over the covers)...but pre-neuter he never humped anything except this very particular stuffed animal and that was only like 3x...grrr

| Maybe it's due to the discomfort of the operation? Or maybe he just REALLY missed your boyfriend? I'm not quite sure, but we had a Cairn that humped after his surgery... |

| He has always been very "active" but I don't know how much more I can take...I need like a week vacation just to recover from his antics the last 4 days....between all that and the surgery and his throwing up...I am ready to just throw in the towel BUT then I look at him and he's just hanging over the side of the couch in my office...looking at me while I work...I had to take a pic on my camera phone..it's the cutest thing...lol

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Poor girl...I used to compare them to kids...but then I realized KIDS take NAPS - you get a few hours where they are sleeping and that's your time - with yorkies - their naps consist of sleeping with one eye watching your every move !! I just love your little guy - he sounds like a hoot - busy busy busy - I know he's a bit TOO busy for you but it's good that he's got so much SPUNK ! |

| That is too funny! He's like the man with a vasectomy who suddenly "feels free" and goes wild!! Ha! Well, I think the humping is "less" after a neuter, but since females hump too and it is a "dominance thing" with dogs, I don't think it ever goes away completely. My westie is 5 years old and I had her spayed as a puppy but she still humps occasionally to show she is the alpha dog! |

| My Codie still humps and he's been neutered for about 6 months. I asked my vet about it and he said it's more of a dominance thing than it is sexual.

| Tuffy still humps and it's been a year since he was neutered. Luckily he only humps one thing so I don't really worry about him doing it to people or to Pixie. I would squirt him with a water bottle and give him a correction anytime you see him doing it if you really dislike that kind of behavior. You can teach them not to do it.. though it's pretty tough. Tuffy never learned.

| If his humping is sexual it should stop about 5 days after surgery when the hormonses have left his body. BUT...humping is also a learned behavior and a dominance things so while it may lessen it may never stop. Bruce has been nuetered for 2 months he never humped a thing before and let us hope he never does! My fingers will remain crossed. |

| I don't think they'll ever stop! Alley was neutered 4 months ago and he still "entertains" himself on a daily basis. Thank goodness it's just a pillow and not everything or everyone else! I, too thought it would go away. How naive can one person be??? LOL

| They just don't stop! It is a male thing!!! I thought the same thing. Stomper was neutered at 4 months old - he is now 8 months and is humping too. He started lifting his leg up too! I actually asked the vet about this and they laughed. They said it is normal and won't stop! I do believe it reduces it though. He doesn't hump and lift his leg ALL the time. Perhaps it would be more often if he was not neutered...who know!!!???

| Chloe does this to Lacey when she wants to dominate her, she's a little over a year old and never did it until Lacey came to live with us. I just make her stop or Lacey snarls at her. |
