| Fourth of July In the past I have seen people take their pets to Fourth of July activities such as: picnics, parades and fireworks. I would like to take our two furbabies, just wanted to see if anyone else takes theirs out on this holiday. I was planning on putting on a patriotic ribbons on them.

| I haven't taken mine to fireworks because I think they would be scared. But, we do take them on 4th of July cookouts or picnics. I think that's when a stroller would come in handy because, if nothing else, it would give them a place to nap in the shade if you're going to have them out all day. It's also a great way to make sure they don't get lost.

| I would NOT take them out anywhere were there will be fireworks. They will be frightened. I have seen people take thier dogs and watched them struggle trying to hold down a frightened dog to keep them from running. I would be so afraid they would panic and run away. I remember one time taking our golden retriever with us to watch the fireworks and it was all I could do to keep control of her while we tried to get her to the car to take her home.

I agree. I hear stories every year of dogs and cats that are lost every Fourth of July when they panic because of fireworks. Not all have been taken to picnics, either. They escape from yards or even homes (screen doors) in their panic. The best thing to do is to leave them home with some "white noise". | |

I totally agree, and that's why we have never taken ours to fireworks. Jackson is a little bit frightened of thunder so I would imagine fireworks would scare him to death. Last year, we had a cookout at our house, then hubby and I stayed home with Jake rather than go to fireworks. He was a little nervous when neighbors were setting off fireworks, but we stayed inside with him and distracted him with toys and played with him, and he was fine.
