| My babies are NOT normal, lol!! Hi guys, I think my four babies are abnormal. After talking with a few others about bones my fiance and I drove practically an hour to buy the babies the raw bones by Nature's Variety. Here I am all happy and excited to give them these new bones. They gross me out (I'm a vegetarian) but I was still excited about them being happy with a new treat. I get home and grab two old towels and I put the bones down for them. Pia is so picky and I was really wanting her to like them but that didn't happen. She got close to the one bone and made such a nasty face and took off running. Then Snoot licks the one and just walks away with absolutely no interest what so ever. Then Paisley walks up to the one and pretty much does the same thing. She took off running and got a toy instead. Trixie is the absolute worse. I have never seen her act like this over a bone. She was acting so strange and wouldn't go near the bone. I picked her up and placed her next to one and she freaked out. She started crying in a hysterical way and took off running and hid under the table. I was so confused by her and picked her back up. She just kept crying and then was making really low whimper noises. Finally, she goes back to the bones and covers them all up with the towel. Let me add that she was crying the entire time that she was doing her covering. When she was done she jumped on her daddy's lap and I swear was even more emotional than her usual self. What the heck did I do wrong? I thought they would be so happy with some new bones. Needless to say they are now in the garbage. I bought quite a few and still have more in the freezer. I feel so bad that I upset them and you would have thought I was killing Trixie. Has anyone else experienced this type of behavior or are my babies just slightly nutty?

| I don't know what to tell you, but where in the world was your video camera? I would have loved to see her bury them in the towel!

| Dina how big were the bones? The only NV bones I've seen were the big ones. I'm sorry that the babies got so upset about them.

| I didn't even think to grab the camera. Trixie was so hysterical and I was just trying to calm her down. It was the strangest thing ever. They certainly amuse the heck out of me.

| The bones were big but the place has them cut smaller for dogs like yorkies and etc. I did buy a few of what NV considers small and if Snoot liked the bones I'm sure he could have chewed on the sides. However, none of them liked the bones. I just don't understand why they were so against them. Trixie was such a mess for a few hours because of them. If I even dared to put one out now, I think she'd hide forever. I just wish I could find something they really loved that was also safe. Thanks for replying and needless to say I don't think raw is right for my babies.

| Yes, your babies are slightly nutty, ROFL. Just kidding....I'm a veggie too....but my babies have NO QUALMS whatsoever regarding the bones. I don't even eat egg yolks, but Max for sure would scarf a whole egg down in a heartbeat. I think it's totally disgusting to deal with bones and I have a really hard time having to deal with them. I have to totally turn off my mind from what it is or what I'm doing....it TOTALLY grosses me out. But the babies love it so much, I figure.....anything for them! I think you're lucky yours aren't interested, hehe.

| oh..your babies are just like mine..they are on NV raw but they won't go near the NV bones!! They get scared by it also..soo funny. the only thing that they will chew on is the free range organic bully sticks that i get for them..they go nuts over it..it is small enough for them to hold and chew! Even Tsubi can chew and go nuts over it! I never had to get Tumi's baby teeth pulled, thanks to the bully stixs!!! You have to be careful with the ones that you get though..I don't get ones from Petcos or petmarts! Let me know if you wanna give that a try!!

| Linda, they would never make it out there. If I left them somewhere I can almost guarantee a week later they would still be standing in the same spot.

Oh they are quite nasty!! When I first saw them I'm sure I had quite a good facial expression, LOL!! Bones absolutely discust me. I have to think of something else when touching them. I wanted them to like them at first because I knew they would be good for the teeth but after seeing them and having to smell them, ewwwwwwwwww!! We need something less stinky!!
