Clock Please Help Me ASAP !!!!

My Yorkie is 5 months old. Her name is Tara. We love her so much. We try and play with her and all she wants to do is bite our fingers or toes. She will grab on to my socks and will no let go. She even scoots on the floor as we walk. It really hurts bad. Her teeth are really sharp. We hae done everything to try and get her to stop. She will sometime when we are laying down in the bed, jump up and snap us on the nose with out a warning. I have yelled..NO..STOP. We have put her in her kennel. We have sprayed water in her face. We hae said..NO.. and give her the Kong chew. Nothing has worked. She has been doing this since we got her at 2 months old. COULD SOME ONE PLEASE HELP WITH SOME ADVISE.

Thank-You,
Yoli

Hi,
My Yorkie is 3 mths old. He is doing the same thing. My husband doesnt mind but I do so what I do is tell him NO BITE firm and give him something to bite on like a toy or his bone. Everytime he would bite on me I would repeat it. Now he knows not to bite at me or my feet but he still does my husband because he lets him. Just be sure to have something for him to bite on everytime you say NO BITE.
Hope this helps. It worked for me.

I had that problem with Jake when he was a puppy and teething. I read that when they bite, make a loud "yelping" noise, the same as they do when they are hurt. Then, give them a firm "NO!", you don't even have to raise your voice. Put them down, give them something they are allowed to chew on, and ignore them for a minute or so. They don't like to be ignored. Just keep doing this until he "gets it". You have to be consistent, they learn by repitition. Always make sure she has enough to chew on. Bully sticks are great for this.

Jake would bite at our feet, especially if we had socks on. I put a little "Bitter Apple" on my socks, and he never did it again. You can get the Bitter Apple at any pet store.

Hope this helps. Good luck!!!

Rigger has been rushing people's shoes since he was a puppy and it is the one thing we have not been able to stop.
When someone comes over we meet them at the door and say "he is going to rush at your shoes as if to bite, but he will get to them and just stop, then he will be fine." If they do that, all is well. If they jump around as if frightened, he will grab onto the shoe.
We have been trying to get him to stop since he was about six months old with no luck, and he is now 2 yrs old.
I will be watching this thread too!
(Of course it is his only vice.)

I thought it was just me...LOL I felt bad tonight because I sent Cora's little girl Faith to my sisters so she could put her in with the other puppies because she was making me insane. She kept biting me and YES it hurts!!! Cora was going crazy because I would take them for walks and Faith would run up behind Cora and bite her in the tush. Cora would get fed up, stop walking and I would have to pick her up. I am sure you guys don't want to hear this but this thread is actually relieving for me...THANK GOD ITS NOT JUST ME!!!

Yep! Chewie didn't get that name for no reason, LOL! He especially loves my hubby's feet....why he does, I have no idea! He's gotten better, but he still does his little "rocket power" thing when you're holding him. If you look at him, he rockets up into your face with an open mouth! Most of the time getting a mouthful of nose or chin, LOL! Once he does that I'll tell him no firmly and put him down. I think he's getting the idea.

I'm such a nosey nutt! Ok Rambeau loves feet he loves to lick newly washed toes YUCK! He chases feet, plays with feet, humps feet. Feet are on their level and their size and they smell really bad everything a dog loves. I have found (truly) that the sound Ceaser uses works - that loud, quick shooshing noise. It shocks him, gets his attention and pulls him out of whatever trance he is in. Of course rolling him over on his back and holding him with said foot works well also.

Melissa and Rambeau (I LOVE stinky feet)

My female Tinka, chewed fingers and chased feet up until about 8 months old and then she stopped. Now my little guy Tyke, he likes to bite noses. He is only six months old and I am hoping that he will grow out of it as well. He doesn't acutally bite your nose, but he lunges forward towards your face and if you pull away, his teeth can graze your skin. If you sit still, you just get a wet mouth around your nose (delightful) then he proceeds to give huge amounts of kisses.

That is the only thing that I haven't tried...is the... Bitter Apple.I also bought a.. Clicker... at the pet store. It makes a loud noise so that they will stop what they are doing and look at you. It is suppose to distract them from what they are doing on to somrthing else. I will let you know how that works. I will try them both. All I know...is that she will bite my feet so much that I get so much of it and I will just have to put her in her kennel so I can be able to walk and get somethings done with out trying to keep myself from falling over her. Me hurting her or hurting myself.
Thanks again....Yoli

Default Welcome to teething

I posted a concern as well as other here....teething pups..not fun. I do the YELP thing OUCH!!! Aiden cocks his head, stops for 2second and procede to chew and terrorize anything that moves. The only way I can calm him is giving him a chewy. LOL I actually discovered my new shoe has his signature teeth mark on the back heel Hang in there, this to shall pass...I hope. If not my husbands comment(like most men out there) "Well if it's shoes he like you have plenty to give him"NO FARE!!!

I had the same problem with KiKi and we did the "no bite" routine where we would set her down away from us, say "no bite"....and totally ignore her ( it was harder on us than on her) for a few minutes....this worked..it took a lot of patience and we had to be VERY consistent...but she does not do it anymore.....
Good Luck ! :-)

when you have a pup that will bite at you, YOU MUST break it in a way they understand, they dont understand water nor crating...

next time they do it place your finger sideways all the way back to the jaw (their mouth is forced wide open) and repeat the words "NO BITE" firmly

Doing this just a few times will break this nasty habit!
