| First grooming appointment, help! Oliver is going to his first grooming appointment tomorrow afternoon but I'm having some trouble deciding what to get. I live in Florida and my main reason for getting his hair cut is that he seems really hot outside already. Idk, we had my old yorkie shaved a few times because she got matted so easily but I would prefer his hair be a little longer, but I want the hair on his head to stay longer. Is there a particular name for the cut I'm looking for, or what should I ask for? Also, he needs a bath pretty badly. The groomer I'm going to is very busy and open only two days a week so when I made the appointment today I was expecting to have to wait for a while, but she had a slot open tomorrow. I was planning on giving him a bath tonight, but should I just wipe him down to make him smell nice? If he's going to have a bath at the groomer I don't want to dry out his skin. |

| i would just wipe him down and tomorrow i would ask for a puppy cut.. its really hot down there now, i would make them feel comfortable and get it cut short, especially since his a boy... for me, i would keep the top short, for a boy too... just my opinion. i think he would look sooooo cute. good luck and lets see pictures of the new do

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Here's what I did....I looked at pictures on line and took them in. I love the way our groomer does their faces but didn't want them completely shaved down. Be specific...not to cut his top knot if you want to keep it. Reese got groomed yesterday. I love the cut on him...and his fur is about an inch long on his body and legs.

My Little Man! Donating Member | You can ask for puppy cut but some groomers cut their hair too short. I would suggest to google images for yorkie puppy cut, print it out and bring it to your groomer. It would be easier to explain how you want your baby to be cut. Plus you could also say I want the hair on your baby's face longer, body shorter etc.

| It's 90+ here in California....I just had my pup get the puppy cut @ the groomer on Monday & it's perfect!!!!......there are differences in the puppy cut though groomer to groomer they vary so I agree get some pics of a cut you like and show the groomer.
