| White Blaze on Fore Chest My puppy has a prominent blaze of white on his chest, I have had more than one person tell me how unusual this is, and I'm curious as to why Does it mean anything in particular? One woman in the pet store turned up her nose and asked me if I was sure he wasn't a mix . I asked her "why, are you?" Not that I care whether he's mixed or not. I didn't buy him to breed him, I bought him because he's the most beautiful furbaby in the world and I fell in love with him . However, I know his parents, and I'm quite sure he's a full yorkie. Is it some kind of flaw in the breeder circle? |

When my Naboo had her first and ever litter, 2 of the 3 had the white blaze on their chest. 1 of them even had a cross and that's how I can tell them apart. They grew up fine, no problems so far . Others can probably explain the genetics part more articulately than I. | |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I remember reading on several threads that a white star pattern on a puppy's chest was a good indication that they would have a fabulous coat when full grown. I love your reply to the rude woman.

| My Jamie had a white blaze on his chest and a tiny bit of white on both of his paws and he is 100% yorkie. I wouldn't let her get to you.

| Could this also mean that her puppy carries the parti gene or is there usually more white spread throughout the coat. People are so rude sometimes. I love your reponse.

| Many Yorkie pups are born with a small white patch on there chests but it usually fads away or blends in when they are adults. Under the new Yorkshire Terrier Standard if a dog has a white spot on their chest that is more than 1 inch in size then that is considered a disqualifying fault in the show ring. I have heard of Yorkies being call splitters that have more white on them. These are some that carry the gene for what some call parti colored Yorkies. It is possible that is what you have. Did you see his parents? |

| My Otis has a white blaze on his chest and he has a VERY thick coat. Also, he has a cottony coat and he stayed black. He is full blooded yorkie.
