| Should I Be Concerned? My little Miss Molly, who is 6 mos., loves to chew on silver/metal, especially my bracelets. This morning I noticed she was chewing on the metal zipper on my briefcase. Is this the normal puppy chewing or could she be lacking something like iron? I've heard when horses chew like that they're lacking something. Should I be concerned?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I think they will chew on almost anything, especially the first year. She's getting her adult teeth at this time, and it's probably a good idea to keep all metal objects away from her to avoid injury to her permanent teeth. I make sure Joey has plenty of chew toys; and he adores bully sticks.

| I am no expert but I'd say it's because she is just a puppy. Mine chewed on everything that came close to their mouths (table legs, doors, shoes, even my DVD recorder cables). My house looks like I run a day nursery, with toys everywhere upstairs and down, just to keep them busy and out of trouble. Madeline, at almost a year, still takes a pork chewy to bed every night, like a little kid and a pacifier.
