| My Yorkie is a fraidy cat It's me, Jasmine's mom again. Jasmine or Jazzi as we call her for short is also afraid of the dark. She will only go out to potty if you have a flash light. She also does not like to go out in the rain, so we take an umbrella out to. She does not like wet grass and will try to sit on your feet to get out of it. Do you think boots would help. I am very concerned about winter as we live in Missouri and it does get cold and usually snows. What can I do help her. She is also afraid of noises and allows my daughter's Yorkie who is a male and 3 weeks younger than her( she was 16 weeks on 7/25) to bully her around. I don't want her to fight, but I would like her to stand up for herself. He is her height but is probably 4 or 5 oz. heavier than she is. She weighs 3.9 lbs. |

| My pup hated getting her feet wet, too. She's still too small for boots, so when she crawled onto my feet, I would gently place her back in the grass. After a few days of doing that, she seemed fine. But I always go back in and towel her off after she's been in the wet. I think you just have to be encouraging and use praise when she's in scary situations. Does she play with small toys? Can you increase the size of the toys she uses so that "big" things don't scare her? Roxy is a little firecracker, so I'm not sure any of this will help, but it's worth a shot. |

| I am of absolutely no help with your problems.....sorry! I just wanted to say I am so happy to hear that I am not the only one that has Chicken Little for their furbaby. Teddy is afraid of the dark too! If it wasn't so funny I think sometimes I would be mad especially in the middle of the night.

| My little girl is a scardy cat too. I just try to reassure her.

| Well, Kacee heads right out into the dark. I have flood lights on the patio on, but I seldom turn on the yard light because you can see good enough and I don't want to draw any more bugs than necessary. When I first had her and she was so little, she didn't like the wet grass, either, even though I keep the fenced-in yard mowed very, very short! But she is now used to it and goes right out into it. If this is your lawn, try mowing it shorter. If not, is she pad trained? You could try taking a pad out with you and putting it down for her. Spoil 'em rotten, I say! |

| Hiya Millie wont go upstairs or downstairs unless a light is on. I think that's a good thing though as she can see better and it lessen's the risk of her falling. As for the wet my Yorkie Charlie (now at rainbow bridge) hated the rain and wind and would refuse to walk. My Gran knits and sells little jumpers which covers all of their backs and most of their chests and tummies which stops them from getting wet. Obviously I don't pay for them hee hee. Millie is wearing a jumper in the pic on my avitar. Chrissy, Millie and Bonnie xxx

| Hmmmm, that is something to hear of so many dogs afraid of the dark being that they can see in the dark (unlike us). Maybe some of them are "night blind" like some horses. |
