| Soo I'm stumped and I KNOW someone has an answer for me! :) Hey y'all I was talking with another lovely YT'er about yorkie coloring the other day and we got a little stumped! I was just wondering if there was any way you can predict the coloring of the babies when they grow up? I've seen some babies that look pretty dark as puppies and then turn out to be really light as adults (goldish/silver). Does cutting the hair effect the coloring? Or do you go by the coloring of the parents? Thanks so much!!

My furkids Donating Member | Morning! I'm not a breeder but, I don't think you can tell when they are born. When I got Sadie she was the typical black and gold...she stayed that way. Lillie (8 wks when I got her) had very white roots under her black. She turned out to be silver and tan...However...she now has black roots! Very strange but, she is beautiful!

| you can never tell and no cutting does not change color except if you cut short enough, you do cut the puppy hair off. Mine, as a rule, generally take after the parents in color. |
