She has not spade and is in heat I think cause I have noticed little drops of blood. I have a pom but I never had this prob with her. I know nothing about the breed but Im in love with her and she is my little shadow. My pom is jealous, my chihuahua loves her but im lost lol. Can some one tell me about what i need to do. im doing grooming and getting the hair done today. I bought her and my pom matching dresses! I love that and as you can tell I have no kids lol. Thank you for anything you can do or say to help me. I love this site!!!

Yorkie Yakker | Hi! welcome to the site, it's extremely helpful, just look around. almost every question i've had since I got my baby someone has already asked before so I could just search the threads for anything i needed to know. Everyone has been super nice, too! no kids for me just yet either, so my puppy is super spoiled.

| Good luck!!! I too dreamed of having a yorkie from childhood. Then my hubby bought me a pom!! he stole my heart and we had him 13 years. We just recently got a yorkie and it has been totally different. The pom was calm, the yorkie is not. Hopefully he will get to that point. Sounds like she is in heat. Are you getting her spayed? sounds like you will have lots of love at your house. My pom was very independent. My yorkie is very DEPENDENT. I don't even go to the bathroom alone anymore! |

| Hi Tonia. Welcome to YT. This is a great place to learn and meet other Yorkie/dog lovers. I'm not sure what advice you're looking for but I'll start you out with a few things. 1. It does sound like she is in heat. What is her background and how did you come to get her? Was she a breeder dog prior to you getting her? 2. If you have not already done it, I would reccomend a good vet check up and then a spaying scheduled and possibly having her teeth cleaned at the time of her spaying. Little dogs especially Yorkies are susceptible to bad teeth and if she has not had a cleaning done yet, this would be a perfect time to do one. I usually have my Yorkies teeth cleaned the first time at the age of 2 yrs. old and then every other year depending on how they look. As they get older you will need to have them done yearly. 3. I'm not sure what she is eating? Under the diet forum you will be able to get a good idea as to what high quality foods are out there - but you have two other dogs so I'm sure you know about food already. 4. Grooming. Yorkies are hyper-allergetic and have almost human type hair so they need to be washed more frequently then other dogs. I wash mine usually every other week and I use a high quality shampoo and conditioner. I personally like John Paul Pet Shampoo (Oatmeal) and then I use a human conditioner on them (Biolage deep conditioner). I don't want to ramble on and on about stuff you may already know so I'll just end by saying welcome and best of luck with your little baby and if there is any other questions please feel free to PM me and I'll help you out as best as I can.
