I have told my friends about my little party and they think that i'm nuts. He'll only be one once and i want to make it special for him.Any suggestions? |

| I think that would be great! We threw Sandy a party after we had had her for a month, since we don't know when her "real" birthday is - I don't have any pictures, but we got some stuff here: http://www.smalldogmall.com/shop.aspx?pgid=LP It was REALLY cute!!

| Yup, let them think you are crazy, but we gave Yoda a first birthday party as well. You can get a doggy cake and if he has any doggy friends, you can invite them to the party as well! |

| Non-Yorkie people just don't understand! I think it would be a great idea, especially if he can have some furry friends come over for a play date. I'm going to throw my boy a birthday party this September when he turns 1 year old. It happens that my dad shares the same birthday, so they might have a combined party. I think it sounds like a lot of fun. Pictures galore! |

| On a related note...the NY Times had a great article on December 20 about a couple who decided to have a "bark mitzvah" for their dog! Bark mitvahs are the hottest thing for your dog's coming of age, although some find it extremely offensive. Anyway, pet parties are loads of fun!! I saw a great gift basket the other day which included wee wee pads rolled into like a donut shape and treats and toys in the middle. Have fun!!!! |

| parties You are among dog people, there is nothing too strange. The first time my friends Yorkie had babies, we gave her a "puppy shower". Everyone brought their Yorkies and gifts for the mom and puppies..a birthday party sounds pretty normal now doesn't it? LOL |

| I don't think a birthday party is a silly idea at all. I think it's wonderful!! I plan on having a party for Bentley when he turns 1 in May. Take lots of pictures of the party, it will be fun to see! |

| Besides, the more your friends are around Rambo, the more they will come to love him as well and they'll soon see you aren't crazy in your love for him! All our friends and family think we're semi-normal now (at least I think so)... |
